Sport Shorts The Old Bridge Senior Knights took the division title at the North Brunswick Basketball Tournament.Playing for Old Bridge were: Kyle Bell, Justin Bykofsky, Spencer Corbett, Patrick Dineen, Gerard Haran, Marvin Heyer, Eric Woroniecki and Danny Zafirro. The team is coached by Pat Dineen and Joe Pruiti. The Old Bridge Knights under-13 basketball team took the division title at the Hazlet Basketball Tournament.Playing for Old Bridge were: Justin Conover, Marcus Crawford, Mike Federico, Patrick Dineen, Christian Guley, Justin Linkletter, Timmy Lucas, Kevin Olivieri, Sebastian Pruiti, Brandon Villamagna and Wynton Wylkison. If you are interested in starting a running program, but don’t know how to begin, this is an ideal opportunity to train with runners who have a similar goal. The Mountain Challenge has quickly become one of the major adventure running events in the Northeast. Registration is $17 ($15 for USTAF-NJ members) by April 10 with post-registration $20. Billy Schiels of Monroe won the title at Level 6 for 7-year-olds in the state gymnastics meet held at Clifton High School. Shields won the All-Around with a score of 55.5 as he recorded firsts on the floor, vault, pommel horse and high bar; placed second on the bars; and third on the rings. He has qualified for the upcoming regional meet in Pennsylvania on April 15.The East Brunswick 16-and-under travel baseball team is seeking pitchers. Registration for the Sayrewoods South Men’s Baseball League (30-and-over) will take place next Wednesday 7 to 9 p.m. at the Old Bridge Civic Center.
