      GEORGE "ERIC" CARLSON

      of East Brunswick died May 18 in St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. He was a current member of the East Brunswick Water Policy Advisory Committee, on which he served for eight years. A son, Jeffrey, died in 1961. Surviving are his wife, Marilyn Schmidt Carlson; three sons, Eric of Harding Township, Andrew of Berkeley Heights and Todd of Peachtree City, Ga.; a brother, Carl of the Whiting section of Manchester; four grandchildren; and two nephews. Arrangements were under the direction of Brunswick Memorial Home, East Brunswick, with services at Nativity Evangelical Lutheran Church, East Brunswick. Interment was in Graceland Memorial Park, Kenilworth. Memorial contributions may be made to Nativity Evangelical Church, 552 Ryders Lane, East Brunswick 08816, or to the Salvation Army, 287 Handy St., New Brunswick 08901.

      ERNA ANNA WITZANY ACS

      , 73, of Sarasota, Fla., formerly of South River, died May 1 in Sarasota. Surviving are her husband, John; four sons, John J. of Monroe, Rudolf P. of Helmetta, Eric G. of South River and Anthony C. of North Port, Fla.; a sister, Elvira Rodek of the Somerset section of Franklin; a brother, Karl Witzany of Germany; and five grandchildren. Arrangements were under the direction of Palms Funeral Home, Sarasota, with a Mass at St. Michael the Archangel Church, Sarasota. Interment was in Palms Memorial Park, Sarasota. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.

      WALTER J. BILICKI

      , 83, of Sayreville died May 12 in Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. His wife, Mary De Lucia Bilicki, died in 1981, and a grandson, John A. Szabo, died in 1988. Surviving are a son, Walter J. "Moe" Bilicki; three daughters, Linda Szabo of Sayreville, Patsy Bilicki of San Sebastian, Puerto Rico, and Josephine Petrella of the Cliffwood Beach section of Old Bridge; a sister, Stella Madry of Milltown; and nine grandchildren. Services were arranged by Maliszewski Memorial Home, Sayreville, with a Mass at Our Lady of Victories Church, Sayreville. Interment was in New Calvary Cemetery, Parlin section of Sayreville.

      PAULINE M. WHEELER COMBS

      , 72, of East Brunswick, formerly of Old Bridge, died May 11 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Surviving are a son, Howard of Phoenix, Ariz.; three daughters, Diane Combs of Biddeford, Maine, Kathy Howarth of Phoenix and Cody Vaughan of East Brunswick; two brothers, Joseph Wheeler of Sayreville and Daniel Wheeler of Hamilton; and five grandchildren. Services were held at Brunswick Memorial Home, East Brunswick. Interment was in Frost Woods Cemetery, East Brunswick. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 846 Main St., Fords 08863.

      JOHN A. SHELTERS

      , 44, of Spotswood, formerly of Old Bridge, died May 13 in JKF Medical Center, Edison. Surviving are his parents, Bertus and Lorraine Denker Shelters of Old Bridge; two brothers, Bertus Shelters IV of Old Bridge and Jeffrey Shelters of Brick; and a sister, Sandra Beach of Brick. Arrangements were under the direction of Brunswick Memorial Home, East Brunswick, with a service at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Spotswood. Interment was in the church cemetery.

      JOSEPH J. SKWIAT

      , 78, of Sayreville died May 11 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. Surviving are his wife, Stella Ostrowski Skwiat; two sons, Joseph and Gary, both of Sayreville; two brothers, Raymond Skwiat of Monroe and Edward Skwiat of Old Bridge; and four grandchildren. Services were arranged by Maliszewski Memorial Home, Sayreville, with a Mass at Our Lady of Victories Church, Sayreville. Interment was in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Sayreville. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Kidney Foundation.

      DAWN L. CANNON

      , 42, of Helmetta, formerly of Monroe, died May 18 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Surviving are a son, Kuron Brown of Plainsboro; her father and stepmother, William and Ethel Cannon of Onley, Va.; four sisters, Denise Helstowski and Yvonne Sobel, both of Monroe, Cris Guemple of Parksley, Va., and Faye Dudak of Franktown, Va.; two grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and her fiancé, Thomas J. Jadus. Arrangements were under the direction of Brunswick Memorial Home, East Brunswick. Memorial contributions may be sent, in care of the family, to a scholarship fund for Ms. Cannon’s children.

      KATHERTINA FRUH

      , 100, of South River died May 12 in CentraState Medical Center, Freehold. Surviving are a niece, Marie C. Majewski of South River; eight great-nieces and great-nephews; nine great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews; and one great-great-great niece. Services were arranged by Maliszewski Funeral Home, South River, with a Mass at St. Stephen’s Church, South River. Interment was in St. Mary’s Cemetery, East Brunswick.

      PETER RENDA JR.

      , 76, of East Brunswick, formerly of Milltown, died May 14 in JFK Medical Center, Edison. Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Feaster Renda; two sons, David of Milltown and Steve of East Brunswick; a daughter, Denise Kirby of Cottage Grove, Minn.; a brother, Charlie of New Brunswick; two sisters, Josephine DeLeo of Florida and Carmella Dicahaz of Atlantic Highlands; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Services were arranged by Crabiel Home for Funerals, Milltown, with a funeral Liturgy at Sacred Heart Church, New Brunswick. Interment was in St. Peter’s Cemetery, New Brunswick.
