      The Friendly Sons of the Shillelagh, Old Bridge, will sponsor a March 31-April 11, 2001 trip to Ireland.

      Cost is $1,546 and includes round-trip airfare, sightseeing tour bus with guide, first-class hotels for 12 days and 10 nights and 19 meals. Participants will visit Killarney, Limerick, Galway, Knock Sligo, Donegal, Omagh, Dublin, Cork and more.

      Physician/author will

      speak at health program

      Friends Health Connection will present guest speaker Bernie Siegel, M.D., physician and author of Love, Medicine and Miracles at 7 p.m. on Dec. 4 at the Ramada Inn, North Brunswick.

      The event, the third installment in the Friends’ fall 2000 lecture series focusing on health and wellness topics, will be hosted by Presbyterian Homes and Services Inc., Princeton.

      Dr. Siegel will offer insights to help meet the challenges of cancer or chronic illness or to maintain the gift of a healthy life. He intertwines humor, compassion and inspiration based on his philosophy of mind-body-spirit medicine.

      General admission is $25. A limited number of VIP tickets, which include priority seating, a reception and the opportunity to meet Dr. Siegel, are available at $100.

      O.B. veterans group to

      mark Pearl Harbor Day

      American Legion Post No. 177 will conduct a Pearl Harbor Day memorial service at 7 p.m. on Dec. 7 at the post home, 17 Emerson St., Old Bridge.

      The event will honor all individuals, military personnel and civilians, who were injured or lost their lives in the attack on Pearl Harbor, Dec. 7, 1941. There will be guest speakers and a candle-lighting ceremony.

      The public is invited to show its support for the country’s military personnel. Refreshments will be served at the conclusion of the event.

      Photographic society

      will hold holiday party

      The Raritan Photographic Society will hold a holiday party at 8 p.m. on Dec. 7 at the East Brunswick Library, Jean Walling Civic Center.

      The society is made up of amateur and professional photographers who gather twice a month to learn about the art and enjoyment of photography. Monthly photographic competitions are held.

      New members are welcome. The public is invited.
