Girl Scout troop thanks South River Historical Society for assistance

South River Girl Scout Troop No. 1169 would like to take this opportunity to thank the South River Historical and Preservation Society for its assistance and willingness to work with the Scouts to prepare a tour of the Old School Baptist Church Museum, South River.

The Girl Scouts recently gave borough senior citizens a tour of the museum. The event was attended by approximately 15 seniors, and the Scouts received excellent reviews from all. After the tour, the troop presented the 1903-1953 — St. Mary’s Parish 50th Jubilee Golden Yearbook to Donna Raffano, president of the Historical and Preservation Society, as a donation.

The troop would like to thank the seniors who took part in the tour; we hope they enjoyed reminiscing. The girls are very proud to be a part of South River, and they plan to continue their involvement with the historical society.
