      The Raritan Valley Soccer Officials Association is seeking candidates interested in officiating high school soccer in Middlesex, Hunterdon, Somerset and Warren counties. The RVSOA is a member of the National Intercollegiate Soccer Officials Association Interscholastic Division and the New Jersey Soccer Officials Association, the leading organization for high school officials in the state.       The CNJ United, an U10 boys’ travel soccer team, captured first place in the Sayreville Summer Classic 2001 Tournament with impressive victories over neighboring rivals from East Brunswick, Old Bridge and Sayreville. This was the team’s third successive tournament championship. The team members are Gabriel Aquino, Thomas Brynkiewicz, Tommy Cahillane, Michael Chiosi, Mohamed Conteh, Chris Fawzy, Burang "Papa B" Joof, Sean Lawrence, Andrew Marrone, Matt Melnick, Mark Morgan, Glenn Muszynski, Paul Muszynski, Peter Mutiso, Petar Pavkovic and Michael Pluta. The CNJ United is coached by Art Pluta and Dan Cahillane, assisted by Kian Barry and Danny Cahillane.

      The following are the results of the Tamarack Women’s Golf Association’s 18-Hole League’s July 3 outing which was a red, white and blue team tournament. In Flight A, Tres Wist was the winner with a 74 (match of cards), followed by Jan Unger (74) and Vanessa Carney (75). Rita Reisart had low putts of 29. In Flight B, Carol Jankowski was the winner with 70, followed by Linda Weintraub (73) and Doris Kohlberg (76). Tim Jesdanum had low putts of 33. In Flight C, Carol Mulvey was the winner with 69, followed by Jean Hetzler (76) and Janice McElhiney (78). Barbara Bromfield had low putts of 32.       The Monroe Wolverines football and cheerleading organization is holding a general information meeting for parents on July 19 at 7 p.m. at the Monroe Township Recreation Center. Many coaches will be on hand to answer questions. Please, no children if possible.

      The Monroe 12-and-under boys basketball team got off to a fast start in the Freehold Summer League with a 48-28 win over Colts Neck. The team was led by Mark Gulick (14 points including four three-pointers), Tommy Soresen (10 points, five steals and seven assists), Matt Genevieve (nine points) and Joe Costa (five points, seven rebounds). Kevin Synarski added a three-point basket, and Kyle Horsch had a basket as well as six rebounds. Vincent Mahmoud and Colin Horsch each had two points and combined for eight rebounds.

      The following are the results of the Tamarack Women’s Nine-Hole Golf Association’s July 5 outing at the Tamarack East Course. The game played was red, white and blue teams, averaged scores and handicap. The red team took first place with a 39.3 average, followed by the white team (40.82) and the blue team (42.18). A complete list of team members is available at the clubhouse in the scoring room.

      The Monroe Township Soccer Club announces that Major League Soccer (MLS) camps will be arriving at Thompson Park in Jamesburg from July 23-27. The following camp sessions are available: ages 5-6, from 5-6:30 p.m. (cost $56 per player); ages 7-16, from 5-8 p.m. (cost $98 per player); ages 9-18 (team program), from 5-8 p.m. (cost $98 per player). Each camper will receive an individual player evaluation, a Lego gift, a soccer ball, a T-shirt, and a free companion ticket to an MLS game. Parents and coaches may also attend a free MLS coaching clinic during the week of camp. A team of international coaches, specifically trained and qualified in coaching children in soccer, provides MLS campers with expert soccer instruction.
