      The following are the results of the Tamarack Women’s 18 Hole Golf Association’s Aug. 6 "Relay" Tournament: In first place was Edythe Gutman and Agnes Olsson with 65; followed by Christa Delucia and Elaine Jadacki with 66.5; Mary Caulkin and Jean Hetzler with 68; Inge Robinson and Ann Lin with 71.5; and Jean Ertle and Ellie de la Bandera with 72.

      At the Aug. 13 Low Gross/Low Net Tournament, Chung Hee Lee had the low gross in Flight A with 86, while Doris Kohlberg had the low net with 65, followed by Carolyn Meyers (66). Blenda Treuman had low putts with 31.

      In Flight B, Claudia Homoki had low gross with 95, while Christa Delucia had low net of 64, followed by Young Lee (68). Agnes Ollson had low putts with 31. In Flight C, Edythe Gutman had low gross with 111, while Inge Robinson had low net with 74, followed by Elaine Gerstein (75). Terry Massaro had low putts with 31.

      An end-of-season special offer for women looking for an enjoyable and competitive group of ladies to play golf is will be available next month. Sign up to play September and October and be part of Tamarack Women’s 18 Hole group that plays Tuesday mornings. Join at reduced rates and be eligible for weekly tournaments.       The Monroe U13 boys’ travel basketball team lost a thrilling game to Marlboro in triple-overtime. The team was led by its two leading scorers, Mark Gulick and Joe Costa Jr. Gulick had nine points, while Costa added seven points and 12 rebounds. Vincent Mahmoud, Colin Horsch and Matt Troncone also played excellent games combining for 14 points, 15 rebounds and six steals. Kyle Horsch, Kevin Synarski and Dale Santiago chipped in with eight points and 10 rebounds. The team is now 5-2 and next takes on Old Bridge.

      The following are the results of the Tamarack Women’s Nine-Hole Golf Association’s Aug. 15 outing. The game played was Kickers, no flight — choose own handicap to come as close to par as possible. In first place were Diane Del Masto, Kathleen Farmer, Edythe Gutman, and Joan Semen with 36. In second place were Ellie de la Bandera, Fran Poulin, Sandi Sulam, Helen Michna and Marge Widder with 37. In third place were Helen Walker, Doris Colgrove, Gerry Holbert, Shirley Maas, Dot Peters and Linda Pitone with 38. Marie Coscia had fewest putts with 16.

      The Sayreville Bomber Football Team Touchdown Club will hold a night of professional wrestling at Sayreville High School on Sept. 28, beginning at 7:30 p.m. Scheduled to appear are TV wrestling stars Disco Inferno, Simon Diamond, The Patriot and more.       The Old Bridge Parks and Recreation Department will be sponsoring a Rutgers SAFETY Clinic (Sports Awareness For Educating Today’s Youth). In order to be eligible for the civil immunity protections provided by the Little League law, volunteer coaches are required to attend a safety orientation and training skills program. The Rutgers SAFETY Clinic is based upon the Minimum Standards for Volunteer Coaches Safety Orientation and Training Skills Program, and has been tested in court as having met standards. The clinic for all sports will be held at the Old Bridge Civic Center on Aug. 29 from 7-10 p.m. In-person registration will begin at 6:30 p.m. Twelve people are required to run the clinic. The cost is $30, cash only. Registration will be taken at the door and will be limited to the first 100 people. Attendees will bring a pen or pencil and will receive a certification card and coaches book at the end of the clinic.       The Raritan Bay Sharks baseball team repeated as the United States Amateur Baseball League 2002 Summer Champions 15-16-year-old Division champions. The Old Bridge-based team beat the Lakewood Playaz on Aug. 11 to secure the title. The Sharks are Andy Anderson, Chris Arecchi, Jessie Bartley, Chris Beccia, Aaron Horace, Brian Houghous, Ricky Laskay, Kevin Manzella, Guy Palumbo, Mike Pino, Steve Trapasso, Keith Walker and Tim Wilson. They reside in East Brunswick, Hazlet, Matawan, Metuchen and Old Bridge.

      Registration is being accepted for the Old Bridge fall ice hockey youth instructional program, sponsored by the township Department of Parks, Recreation & Social Services. The program will be held Sunday evenings at the Old Bridge Sports Arena. Youngsters ages 5 through 12 will be instructed on the fundamentals of hockey, including stickhandling, passing, and shooting. Participants are required to wear full equipment. The 90-minute sessions are broken into two age groups: 5-8 and 9-13. The 5-8 group runs from 5:15 p.m. to 6:45 p.m., the older group runs from 6:45 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. The cost is $200 for Old Bridge residents and $250 for nonresidents.       The Sayreville Athletic Association will be accepting Fall Ball registration for the fall season for boys and girls. The season will begin in September and will end on Oct. 31. The cost is $60 per child. No work bond is required. Each family is required to work five hours in the concession stand. For more information, call Mike Marcinczyk at (732) 257-5520.

      The Monroe Community Center will be holding a Roller Hockey Summer Camp the week of Aug. 26-30 from 9 a.m. to noon for children ages 7-9 (must be 7 by August). The cost is $25 per camper, and checks can be made payable to Monroe Township Roller Hockey.

      The Old Bridge Fall Baseball/ Softball League is accepting applications for the fall 2002 season. Boys ages 9-16 and girls 10-15 (as of July 31, 2003) are eligible. Fees are $50 for softball and boys age 12 and under, and $65 for boys ages 13 and over.

      Old Bridge Fall Baseball/Softball is in its seventh season, with over 600 players last year.
