Group deems fall beach sweeps a success

Clean Ocean Action was swept away by the dedication of the estimated 1,500 volunteers who participated in our 17th annual fall beach sweeps.

We applaud the many community groups who braved the stormy weather conditions Oct. 26 to sweep the beach, contributing to a cleaner marine environment. The overwhelming success of this program is due to the enthusiasm of and support from organizations and residents who share the vision of a clean and healthy ocean.
