Sport Shorts EBTV Channel 3, East Brunswick’s municipal access cable television station, will cablecast East Brunswick High School sports events in January and February. All games will be taped on game day and shown twice on the following dates: Boys’ basketball: Jan. 14 vs. Edison. The 7 p.m. game will be shown on Jan. 15 at 8 p.m. and Jan. 16 at 8:30 p.m. Jan. 22 vs. Perth Amboy. The 5:30 p.m. game will be shown on Jan. 23 at 8:30 p.m. and Jan. 25 at 1:30 p.m. Feb. 3 vs. Cranford. The 5:30 p.m. game will be shown on Feb. 5 at 8 p.m. and Feb. 6 at 8 p.m. Feb. 5 vs. Old Bridge. Mark Gulick scored a game-high 17 points, hitting four three-point field goals to lead the Monroe U13 travel basketball team to a 54-41 victory over South Brunswick. James Pellino played a strong game, scoring 11 points and adding six rebounds. Vincent Mahmoud also played well, hitting for eight points. Joe Costa and Colin Horsch both also played strong games, scoring seven points apiece and adding five steals between them. Kevin Synarski and Matt Troncone combined for four points and eight rebounds. The team is now 1-1 and next takes on East Brunswick. Ryan Clark played an outstanding game, scoring 14 points to lead the Monroe U12 boys’ to a 47-25 victory over Holmdel. Vincent Mahmoud also played great, scoring 10 points and dishing out five assists. Joe Costa also played another strong game, scoring seven and grabbing down 13 rebounds. Marc Magliaro knocked down seven points and added three assists, with Kevin Synarski and Justin Mitchell splitting seven points and six rebounds. Ryan Walp and Scott Baron also played well, with Ryan hitting for four points, and the two combined for eight rebounds. The team is now 7-1 and next takes on Marlboro on Jan. 5. |
