Family extends thanks for aid, kindness, compassion

On Dec. 31 two miracles occurred. The first and most important is that our son survived a reported hit-and-run accident after being hit by a man who was later charged with driving under the influence.

The second miracle was the bravery, kindness and good will of so many people who helped our son during this ordeal.

While our son lay on the street, three separate witnesses chased the man, forced him off the road and contacted police.

Another kind soul directed traffic around my son to ensure that he was not hit again. An angel of strength covered him with a blanket to keep him warm and then called his family to let us know that our precious son had been hurt. We can’t think of anything harder to tell a family. Thank you all. Your kindness has been our source of strength. It continues our belief that good does exist much more than evil.

Thank you to all those who I am sure I am not aware of, who were there to help, especially the emergency medical technicians, the police and the paramedics. We wish we could thank you all personally.
