      Suburban Artists Guild exhibit coming to gallery

      The work of the Suburban Artists Guild, a nonprofit organization whose membership includes artists from Middlesex, Somerset and Monmouth counties, will be on exhibit from Feb. 8-March 22 at the Livingston Art Gallery, 1076 Livingston Ave., North Brunswick, between the North Brunswick post office and Ridgewood Avenue.

      Guild members will display acrylics, oils, watercolors, mixed media and pen and ink drawings. The work will include pastoral, floral, still life, portrait and abstract themes. Many of the artists have received awards in juried shows, written articles for art magazines and had their work displayed in books and other publications.

      Gallery owner Joyce Browning invites the public to attend a reception and exhibit viewing from 6-9 p.m. on Feb. 15.

      Visitors will have the opportunity to meet some of the artists and to discuss their work.

      All paintings will be available for sale during the reception and during regular gallery hours, 4-8 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays, and by appointment on Sundays.

      GB Productions slates auditions for ‘Fiddler’

      GB Productions will hold auditions for its upcoming production of Fiddler on the Roof from 7-9:30 p.m. on Feb. 10 and 11 at St. Thomas the Apostle auditorium, Route 18 south, Old Bridge.

      Participants should bring sheet music, wear comfortable clothes and be prepared to dance. Show dates are scheduled for May. For more information, call (732) 257-7795.

      Senior Chai sets Feb. 18 meeting and luncheon

      The next meeting of Senior Chai, a program of Jewish Family Service (JFS) of Southern Middlesex County, will be held from 1-2:30 p.m. on Feb. 18 at the Jewish Congregation of Concordia, 20 Concordia Shopping Center, Monroe.

      Attorney Anne Zaun will offer a presentation on elder care and Medicare. Luncheon will be served. Cost is $7. In-person and mail-in reservations will be accepted at the JFS office, 52 Concordia Shopping Center, Monroe Township, NJ 08831.

      Senior Chai is designed for active senior adults who are widowed, single or caregivers of a spouse. The program provides an opportunity to meet new friends in a social and educational environment. For details, call Jenni-fer, (609) 395-7979, Tuesdays-Thursdays.
