      Community blood drives set in Jamesburg, O.B.

      The Blood Center of New Jersey will sponsor community blood drives from 4-8 p.m. on Feb. 21 at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 83 Lincoln Ave., Jamesburg, and from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Feb. 22 at the Friendly Sons of the Shillelagh, 1 Oak St., Old Bridge.

      Blood donors must be at least 17 years of age. There is no upper age limit for donors provided they meet health requirements. Donors should know their Social Security number and bring a signed or picture form of identification. Individuals with a fever or sore throat should wait until they are feeling better before donating. There is a 24-hour deferral for teeth cleanings and fillings and a 72-hour deferral for root canal and other dental procedures.
