      JFS organizing annual

      Passover food drive

      Jewish Family Services of Southern Middlesex County (JFS) is organizing its annual food drive to meet the needs of hundreds of Jewish families in the area who cannot afford Passover food.

      The drive will benefit local families and individuals who lack sufficient income and also will aid newly arrived immigrants from the former Soviet Union. JFS will provide food and ritual objects for Seders and the entire Passover holiday.

      Donations of food to the JFS Passover Food Pantry may be sent or brought to Jewish Family Services, 517 Ryders Lane, East Brunswick, NJ 08816. For more information, call (732) 257-4100.

      crafters and vendors

      Participants are sought for the Milltown Education Foundation Crafter/Vendor Show set for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on March 29 at Joyce Kilmer School, Church Street, Milltown. For more information and to reserve, call (732) 828-1490.

      Monroe Library Friends

      plans Lunch and Learn

      The Friends of the Monroe Township Library will host a Lunch and Learn program beginning at 12:30 p.m. on March 18 at the library, 4 Municipal Plaza.

      Art historian, museum curator, lecturer and certified appraiser Dr. Lori Verderame will offer a lecture titled "Postmodern Sculptors of the Late 20th Century." Topics will include artists such as Calder, Smith, Oldensburg, Hanson and Serra.

      Participants should bring their lunch. Cookies and a beverage will be provided.

      The program is made available through the New Jersey Council for the Humanities.
