      Exercise to be topic of

      Brandeis presentation

      The Middlesex Chapter of the Brandeis University National Women’s Committee will offer an informal dis­cussion and demonstration on exercise techniques at 1:30 p.m. July 14 at the East Brunswick Public Library, Jean Walling Civic Center.

      Guest speaker Dr. Joel Schwartz, who will discuss exercise as it relates to healthy bones, posture, and abdominal and spinal conditioning, also will offer advice on how to set up a small exer­cise space in one’s home. A demonstra­tion will include exercises using a gym­nastic ball and other space- and cost-ef­ficient equipment. Participants should dress in comfortable clothing.

      Admission is free of charge. The pub­lic is welcome.

      The Brandeis University National Women’s Committee raises funds for the libraries at Brandeis University, Waltham, Mass. Individuals need not be Brandeis graduates to join the panel.

      Church youth group

      slates July 19 car wash

      The youth group of Simpson United Methodist Church will hold a car wash from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on July 19 in the church parking lot at the corner of Route 516 and Owens Road, Old Bridge.

      Cost is $5 for cars, $7 for vans and trucks. All proceeds will support the youth group and its future activities.
