Holiday gift card campaign begins in E. Brunswick

Due to the generosity of individuals, volunteer groups, local businesses, Girl Scouts and Brownie troops, the public schools, churches, religious organizations and various other civic organizations, the township of East Brunswick has arranged for 80 families and senior citizens to receive assistance for the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. The families were "adopted" and were provided with food baskets for their Thanksgiving tables. Some will receive gift baskets for the Christmas holiday.

The township is now accepting donations of gift cards in any denomination to local department stores such as Target and K-mart. The cards will be distributed to the "adopted" families so that the mothers and fathers may shop for their children.

To donate a gift card, make the purchase and mail it to the East Brunswick Division of Recreation, Attn: Karen Kecskes, 350 Dunhams Corner Road, East Brunswick, NJ 08816. The card also may be hand-delivered.
