Monroe 10-year-old travel basketball team remained undefeated with an impressive 50-17 victory over a tough Jackson team. Monroe’s high-powered offense was led by Alex Vizcaino, Matt Gorham and Mike Mahmoud, who combined for 36 points. Xavier Selby and Jimmy Smalls dominated defensively and contributed 10 points of offense. Mike Walp, Clint Winter and Brian Spencer played well for Monroe, getting key rebounds and playing strong defense while adding four points of offense. Corey Liebross and Kashaun Stroughn contributed assists, rugged defense and rebounding to the Monroe victory. Monroe’s victory was highlighted by great team play, hustle and a great team attitude.

The TNT Fastpitch Softball 14U program is looking for two experienced and dedicated players to complete its 2004 roster. Tryouts will be held Jan. 4 and 11 from 4-6 p.m. at TNT’s winter practice facility. The team is located in Central New Jersey. Milltown Little League will hold registration for the 2004 season on Jan. 14 and 15 from 6-8 p.m. for ages 5-16 at the senior citizens building, Violet Terrace. For those who cannot attend, forms may be picked up at the Milltown Library or Borough Hall and mailed to the address on the form by Jan. 15. Registration forms will be handed out in schools shortly.
