Horizons community to open this summer

EAST BRUNSWICK — Construction is progressing at the Horizons at East Brunswick, a new adult condominium complex, according to Sam M. Gershwin, president of Westminster Communities LLC.

Westminster Communities is the construction division of Kushner Cos., a private real estate organization based in Florham Park.

"Building foundation work is well under way," he said, "and on-site infrastructure work, including utilities installation and curbing, is progressing according to schedule. We anticipate the first homes will be ready for occupancy by this time next year."

Situated on 10 acres with frontage on Rues Lane, Cranbury Road and New Brunswick Avenue, the Horizons at East Brunswick features 148 one- and two-bedroom condominiums for sale for adults 55 and older.

The condominium association at the Horizons at East Brunswick will provide exterior maintenance of homes and property for residents as well as landscaping maintenance and snow removal of all common areas.

The luxury homes will range in size from 900 to 1,700 square feet, featuring balconies, full kitchens, formal dining rooms, dens, washer/dryers, card-access security and basement storage. There will also be state-of-the-art communications and computer hook-ups for each condominium. The Horizons also will offer abundant recreational amenities including a community room, fitness center, card and billiards room, library and swimming pool. A courtyard with a gazebo, as well as landscaped grounds with walkways are proposed to enhance the facilities.

Construction of The Horizons at East Brunswick will be completed in phases.

An on-site sales center displaying the proposed models is planned to open this spring, and the first model homes and community amenities are scheduled to open in the summer. Pricing is expected to start in the mid-$200,000s.
