      S.R. Schools schedules kindergarten registration

South River Public Schools will begin kindergarten registration in March.

Registration packets may be obtained from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. beginning March 1 in the main office at South River Elementary School, Johnson Place. At the time of pickup, appointments may be made for a physical examination with the school physician, if necessary.

The packets must be completed and returned from 9-11 a.m. on the following days: March 23, for last names beginning with the letters A-M; March 30, last names N-Z.

To be eligible for enrollment, a child must be 5 years old on or before Oct. 1, and both the child and parent(s) or guardian(s) must have proof that they are borough residents.

The following items must be presented at registration: original birth certificate from the Bureau of Vital Statistics; proof of immunization, under a doctor’s signature; a physician’s certificate of health (a report of an examination completed between Sept. 1, 2003 and Sept. 1, 2004); and proof of borough residency.

Accepted forms of residency verification include: current tax bill or receipt; mortgage statement; rental agreement or lease; contract to purchase a home; notarized letter from a landlord or property owner; or property deed. A driver’s license will not be accepted.
