      Events scheduled at Monroe Senior Center

      A variety of upcoming programs will be offered at the Monroe Township Senior Center, 1 Municipal Plaza. For more information and to register for events, call (732) 521-6111, unless otherwise indicated.

      The Friends of the Senior Center Inc. will hold a general meeting at 1:30 p.m. on March 9 at the center. Refreshments and musical entertainment by Pat McKinley will follow. Registration is not required unless transportation is needed. Call Claire Kelly at (732) 521-6111 to make travel arrangements. For other information on the Friends, call (732) 521-2101.

      Serious harmonica players are invited to the center’s harmonica group at 11 a.m. on Fridays.

      The senior center is a host facility for the RU-ALL (Rutgers University Academy for Lifelong Learning) Spring Satellite Program planned for March 11-May 13. For a complete list of programs and registration information, call (732) 932-7233.

      Dr. Abdul-Mbacke of the Princeton Healthcare System will discuss urinary incontinence affecting women at 1:30 p.m. on March 16. Topics will include the condition’s prevalence, types and treatment. Registration is required by March 9.

      The Friends of the Senior Center will sponsor a Cash Bingo from 1-3 p.m. on March 19. Admission is $3 per person and includes three playing cards. Registration is required.

      "The Art of the Masters: George O’Keeffe" is planned for 3 p.m. on March 19. After a brief lecture, 15 participants will learn a few basic watercolor techniques and create their own magnified flower masterpieces. Space is limited. Registration is required by March 12.

      Dr. Patricia A. Graham, board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation and a member of the Princeton Healthcare System, will offer a discussion on lower back pain and holistic approaches to arthritis and osteoporosis from 9:30-11:30 a.m. on March 22. Registration is required by March 15.
