      Lloyd O. Bunner
      Obituaries Lloyd O. Bunner

      Mr. Bunner, 80, of Spotswood died March 1 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. Prior to his retirement in 1990, he worked for the Spotswood Road Department for more than 20 years. His wife, Anne Morrow Bunner, died in 2003. Surviving are two daughters, JoAnn Schrek of Lakeport, N.H., and Donna Kowalew of Jackson; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Services are planned for 10 a.m. on March 4 at Brunswick Memorial Home, East Brunswick. Interment will follow in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, East Brunswick.

      Irma A. "Billie" Burns

      Mrs. Burns, 74, of South River died Feb. 24 in Barbara E. Cheung Hospice, Edison. Prior to her retirement in 1995, she was a lunch aide for 20 years with the South River school system. Surviving are her husband, Raymond Burns; a son, Curt Burns of Schodack, N.Y.; a daughter, Laurel Burns of Niskayunu, N.Y.; and six grandchildren. A memorial service was held at Brunswick Memorial Home, East Brunswick. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Hubert’s Animal Welfare Center, P.O.       Edward Vernickas

      Mr. Vernickas, 70, of Monroe, formerly of South Brunswick, died Feb. 28 at home. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a sales manager with Metropolitan Life Insurance Co., East Brunswick. Surviving are his wife, Diane Orent Vernickas; two daughters, Susan Evans of Jackson and Sandy LaCorte of the Kendall Park section of South Brunswick; two stepdaughters, Amy Beninda and Julie Pizzino, both of Florida; a sister, Helen Wyman of the Whiting section of Manchester; three brothers, Frank of Palmerton, Pa., Tony of Linden and Paul of Jersey City; and seven grandchildren. A memorial service is set for noon on March 5 at Brunswick Memorial Home, East Brunswick. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 846 Main St., Fords, NJ 08863.

      John H. Balogh

      Mr. Balogh, 93, of East Brunswick, formerly of Sayreville, died March 1 at home. Surviving are his wife, Viola Podbelski Balogh; three sons, Robert and John J. Jr., both of East Brunswick, and Billy of Farmingdale; a daughter, Beverly McGuire of Point Pleasant; a brother, Joseph Balogh of Garnerville, N.Y.; two sisters, Mary Grover and Helen Taylor, both of Winter Park, Fla.; and five grandchildren. Services are planned for 9:30 a.m. on March 5 at Brunswick Memorial Home, East Brunswick. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick.       Elizabeth Orangio Genua

      Mrs. Genua, 84, of the Parlin section of Sayreville died Feb. 26 in St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. Prior to her retirement in 1986, she was employed by I.T.T. Continental Bakery, East Brunswick, where she worked for 18 years. Surviving are a son, Frank Genua of Sayreville; two daughters, Theresa Cox of Parlin and Marie Battaglia of Manchester; three brothers, Albert, Gabe and John Orangio; three sisters, Louise Gimmi, Olga Monteleone and Geraldine Vuono; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchil­dren. A Mass was offered at Our Lady of Victories Church, Sayreville. Entombment was in Woodbridge Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Sayreville Brain Injured Children, 251 Jernee Mill Road, Sayreville, NJ 08872.

      Robert D. Yaniak

      Mr. Yaniak, 68, of Delaware, formerly of Old Bridge, died Feb. 27 in Milford Hospital, Milford, Del. His first wife, Helen, died in 1963, and his second wife, Patricia, died in 1996. Surviving are his wife, Caroline L. Martin Yaniak; three sons, Robert D. Yaniak Jr. of Lincoln, Del., Stephen Yaniak of Spotswood and Michael Yaniak of South River; a brother, Ronald Yaniak of Matawan; a sister, Joan Lacomski of Sayreville; and four grand­children. A Mass was offered at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Old Bridge. Interment was in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Hopelawn.

      Jean "Ciocie" Kalinowski

      Mrs. Kalinowski, 89, of Manalapan died Feb. 28 in Pine Brook Care Center, Manalapan. She was predeceased in 1970 by her husband, Walter. Surviving are a niece, Frances Petrone of Manalapan; two great-nieces, Gina Mumolie and Karyn Binninger, both of Manalapan; and two great-nephews, Lewis Petrone of Monroe and Hank Petrone of the Forked River section of Lacey. A funeral liturgy was offered at St. Thomas More Church, Manalapan. Interment was in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.

      Bruno Lapinski

      Mr. Lapinski, 88, of East Brunswick died Feb. 27 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. He was a longtime farmer in East Brunswick and Kingwood. Prior to his retirement in 1981, he was a forklift operator with Kimberly Clark Co., Peter J. Schweitzer Division, Spotswood, where he worked for 30 years. Surviving are his wife, Clara Kulbacki Lapinski; a daughter, Barbara Tangel of East Brunswick; a brother, Michael Lapinski of the Titusville section of Hopewell; and a granddaughter. A Mass was offered at St. Mary of Ostrabrama Church, South River. Entombment was in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary’s Church Building Fund, 30 Jackson St., South River, NJ 08882.

      Margaret A. "Peggie" Peters Christo

      Mrs. Christo, 75, of South River died Feb. 26 in St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. Prior to her retirement in 1994, she was director of the South River Office on Aging. A member of the South River Mayor’s Advisory Commission on Aging and the South River Recreation Commission, she was a past board member of Stagecrafters Inc., South River. She served as a member of and committee­woman with the South River Republican Organization. She was predeceased by her husband, George. Surviving are a son, George of North Brunswick; three daugh­ters, Carol Kowalew of Old Bridge, Peggie McHugh of Spotswood and Mary Christo of South River; a brother, William Peters of Brooklyn, N.Y.; four sisters, Cathy Bach of North Carolina, Theresa Whitelock of Spotswood, Patricia Walker of Pompton Lakes and Edna Meehan of Woodbridge; and seven grandchildren. A Mass was of­fered at Corpus Christi Church, South River. Interment was in Washington Monumental Cemetery, South River.
