Monroe Health Expo

scheduled for Aug. 26 Monroe residents are invited to attend the Monroe Township Health Expo sponsored by CentraState Healthcare System, Freehold Township, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Aug. 26 in the Monroe Township Senior Center, 1 Municipal Plaza, in the municipal complex. Organizers hope to make the fair an annual event. CentraState health professionals will provide free health screenings for Monroe residents during the event. Screenings, which will be done on a first-come basis, will include pulse oximetry, glucose, blood pressure, body composition, nutrition and more. Residents who plan to have a glucose screening are encouraged to fast for five-eight hours before the test for the most accurate results. In addition, the CentraState Health Awareness Center van also will be on site to provide information, minimassages and screenings. Giveaways and door prizes will be offered. Hearing screenings in the van will require an appointment. Call the senior center at (732) 521-6111 to reserve. Representatives and physicians from CentraState Medical Center will be on hand to offer information on their areas of specialty. Participating hospital departments will include the sleep center, radiation oncology, physical therapy, maternity, health awareness center, senior services, oncology services, cardiac rehabilitation and children’s programs.
