      William J. Shivey

      Mr. Shivey, 50, of the Dayton section of South Brunswick, died Sept. 6 at The New York University Medical Center, New York City. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Kidney Shivey; a son, James J. Shivey of South Plainfield; two daughters and one son-in-law, Selina and Alan Wells Jr. of East Brunswick, and Carolyn Shivey of Dayton; and three sisters, Elaine Rutkowski, Barbara Virag and Carol Dobrowolski, all of Florida. Visitation will be Sept. 10 from 7-9 p.m. at Rezem Funeral Home, East Brunswick. A funeral service will be Sept. 11 at 9 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Cecilia’s Church, South Brunswick, at 10 a.m. Entombment will be at Holy Cross Burial Park Mausoleum, South Brunswick.

      Sharon Cooper

      Ms. Cooper, 37, of Monroe died Aug. 13 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Surviving are her fiancé, Donald Wolfe of Monroe; her mother, Estelle Weissberger of Lady Lake, Fla.; and her father, Leonard Weissberger of Fort Mill, S.C. A memorial service will be held on a date to be announced. Memorial contributions may be made to Contreras Cancer Fund, c/o Cancer Aid and Research, P.O. Box 37099, Phoenix, AZ 85069.

      Vernon “Wally” Walling

      Mr. Walling, 83, of East Brunswick died Aug. 29 in St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. Prior to his retirement in 1983, he was employed at Hercules Inc., Parlin section of Sayreville, where he worked for 36 years. A son, Kenneth Walling, died in August. Surviving are his wife, Irene Molnar Walling; a brother, Henry Walling of Jackson; four sisters, Alice Metz of Parlin, Alma Crick of Edison, Jane Walling of South River and Lois Walling of Monroe; three grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Services were held at Eckman Funeral Home, Spotswood. Interment was in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, East Brunswick. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.

      Eugene A. Tedeschi

      Mr. Tedeschi, 85, of Monroe died Aug. 30 at home. His wife, Mary Palmeri Tedeschi, died in 1988. Surviving are a son, Gene Tedeschi of Santa Rosa, Calif.; a brother, Guido Tedeschi of Staten Island, N.Y.; two sisters, Mary Montalto of Nanuet, N.Y., and Ida Fiore of Long Island, N.Y.; and three grandchildren. Services were held at Nativity of Our Lord Church, Monroe. Interment was in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick.

      Mary Ellen Kearns Jeduel

      Mrs. Jeduel, 84, of East Brunswick died Aug. 30 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Prior to her retirement, she was an occupational health nurse and supervisor at Johnson and Johnson, North Brunswick, where she worked for 30 years. Her husband, Walter W. Jeduel, died in 1997. Surviving are a daughter, Josephine Yatauro of South Brunswick; three granddaughters, Debra Krutan, Tammy Yatauro and Nicole Sandstedt; and four great-grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Mary of Mount Virgin Church, New Brunswick. Interment was in St. John’s Cemetery, Lakehurst. Memorial contributions may be made to South Brunswick Citizens for Independent Living Inc., 100 Woods Lane, Monmouth Junction, NJ 08852.

      Constance “Connie” M. Mosca Pepin

      Mrs. Pepin, 85, of East Brunswick died Aug. 26 at home. Her husband, Armand Pepin, died in 1999. Surviving are a son, Armand Pepin of East Brunswick; a daughter, Judy Pepin, also of East Brunswick; and two grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Bartholomew’s Church, East Brunswick. Entombment was in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 100, Dept. 300, Memphis, TN 38148-0552.

      Pauline Draper Rothbard

      Mrs. Rothbard, 77, of East Brunswick died Aug. 26 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Her husband, Martin, died in 1988. Surviving are a son, Kyle of Belle Harbor, N.Y.; a daughter, Gabrielle Frank of East Brunswick; and two grandchildren, Alex and Mia Frank. Services were held at Mount Sinai Memorial Chapels, East Brunswick. Interment was in Mount Lebanon Cemetery, Glendale, N.Y.

      Salvatore Nicosia

      Mr. Nicosia, 83, of Freehold died Aug. 31 at home. Prior to his retirement 12 years ago, he was the owner and operator of Nicosia Brothers Inc., a clothing manufacturing firm located in Brooklyn, N.Y. His wife, Nancy Nicosia, died in 1994, and a son, Anthony Nicosia, died in December. Surviving are a son, Stephen of East Brunswick; a daughter, Roseanne Mariano of Freehold; a daughter-in-law, Adele Nicosia of Staten Island, N.Y.; two brothers, Michael Nicosia of Red Bank and Robert Nicosia of Staten Island; a sister, Frances Benedetto of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; and five grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Rose of Lima Church, Freehold. Interment was in Holmdel Cemetery.

      Geraldine Coyle Jeffries

      Mrs. Jeffries, 66, of Old Bridge died Aug. 27 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. Prior to her retirement in 2003, she was employed as a clerical worker at J.C. Penney Co. Inc., East Brunswick, where she worked for many years. Her husband, George Jeffries, died in 2002. Surviving are a daughter, Patricia Silowka of Old Bridge; five sons, Kenneth Jeffries of Richmond, Va., Robert Jeffries of North Carolina, James Jeffries of New City, N.Y., William Jeffries of Brick and David Jeffries of Old Bridge; four brothers, Michael Coyle of Maryland, Christopher Coyle of Nevada, Dennis Coyle of the Iselin section of Woodbridge and Kevin Coyle of Stanhope; two sisters, Elaine Webster of Virginia and Karen Geipel of Milltown; and 11 grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Old Bridge. Interment was in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, East Brunswick.

      Thomas J. Szczepanowski

      Mr. Szczepanowski, 55, of South River died Aug. 31 at home. He was the building inspector for the borough of Sayreville for the past two years. Prior to that, he worked for Servon Inc., South River, for many years. His father, Francis, died in 1965. Surviving are his mother, Margaret “Peggy” Kuzava Szczepanowski of South River; an uncle. George Kuzava of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; two aunts, Josephine Herzog and Edna Losinski, both of South River; and many cousins. Services were held at Brunswick Memorial Home, East Brunswick. Interment was in St. Mary’s Cemetery, East Brunswick.
