Tree-lighting festivities set for Dec. 4 in Monroe

The Monroe Township Mothers Club will sponsor the annual Monroe Community Tree Lighting Celebration beginning at 6 p.m. on Dec. 4 at Garvey’s Restaurant, intersection of Matchaponix and Gravel Hill Road. Snow/rain date will be Dec. 5.

Entertainment and refreshments will be provided, and there will be a special visit from Santa.

Donations of any nonperishable food (especially infant cereals and hot or cold cereals) will be collected for the needy in the Monroe area.

Participants also are asked to bring a weatherproof ornament or decoration that celebrates their ethnic background or religious beliefs.
