      • Oldies Dance, sponsored by Spotswood American Legion Post No. 253, 8-11 p.m., at the post home, Devoe Avenue, next to the lake. Music of the ’50s, ’60s. Admission is $7 per person and includes soda, cake, coffee, tea. Singles welcome. Call Tony at (732) 251-0970 .

      July 16

      • Car Wash, sponsored by the Sayreville War Memorial High School (SWMHS) Band Parents Association, 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., in the high school parking lot, Washington Road. Donation is $5 for cars and vans, $10 for conversion vans. All proceeds benefit the SWMHS Marching Unit.

      • Gigantic Garage Sale, sponsored by the First Reformed Church of South River, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the church, 40 Thomas St. Clothing for for children and adults, household items for indoor and outdoor use, more. All items sold at bargain prices. Free parking in the church parking lot. (732) 257-1994.

      • Car Wash, sponsored by Little Apple Productions, a nonprofit community theater company in Milltown, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Milltown municipal building, Washington Avenue. Proceeds support the group’s production of “Honk! Honk!,” set for Aug. 12, 13 and 14 at Spotswood High School, Summerhill Road.

      • The Be-Bop Cruisers Benefit Car Show, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., at Freehold Raceway, Route 9. Rain date is July 23. More than 300 antique and classic cars from the tri-state area. Proceeds benefit the Middlesex County Child Assault Prevention Project (CAP). Call Phyllis Celano at (732) 303-7187.
