      Aug. 11

      • Barbecue Chicken Night, sponsored by Our Lady of Victory Knights of Columbus Council No. 2061, 6-9 p.m., at the council home, Washington Road, Parlin section of Sayreville. Chef Carmen Spezzi’s menu will feature barbecued chicken, Jersey corn, baked potatoes, baked beans, dessert, coffee, tea, beer, wine. Tickets cost $15 each.       Aug. 13

      • Car Wash, sponsored by the Sayreville War Memorial High School Band Parents Association (SWMHS), 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., in the high school parking lot, Washington Road. Donation is $5 for cars and vans, $10 for conversion vans. All proceeds benefit the SWMHS Marching Unit.

      • Flea Market, sponsored by St. Lawrence Parish, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the church, 109 Laurence Parkway, Laurence Harbor section of Old Bridge. Call Terry at (732) 290-9231.

      • Golf Outing, sponsored by the Sayreville Leprechauns Pop Warner Football and Cheerleading Association, tee time is 10:34 a.m., participants should arrive by 10 a.m., at Bunker Hill Golf Course, Princeton. Hole-in-one contest with a $10,000 grand prize. Cost is $100 per person; includes round of golf with cart, lunch at midway point, buffet dinner with open bar (beer and wine) at the Elks Lodge, South Amboy. Door prizes, 50/50, prize raffles, special raffle for an R-7 driver. Call Pat at (732) 316-9677.

      • Family Picnic and Pig Roast, sponsored by Spotswood Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 4589 and its Ladies Auxiliary, 1-7 p.m., at the post home, 33 Daniel Road.
