      The following are the results of the Tamarack Women’s Golf Association’s Aug. 4 and 11 club championship. Saralee Surett was the overall winner with a score 167. Linda Burnett won the A Flight low gross with a 170, followed by Eileen Anton (172) and Rose Mintz (179). The low net went to Mei Chou (127), Fran Krumholz (133), Rose Conklin (133) and Dolores Paccione (137).

      The B Flight low gross went to Dorothy Carlson (197), followed by Joyce Connelly (200), Jeanne Chrabasszcz (201) and Marcie Ellberger (210).

      The low net went to Sandy Schwartz (142), followed by Mary Ann Plesniak (142), Beth Pollak (146) and Mary Field (146).

      In the C Flight, low gross went to Barbara Bell (202), followed by Diana Liao (208) and Mary Giehl (219), while the low net went to Barbara Grena (135), followed by Peg Haverty (140), Judith Bendik (147) and Gail Baletti (164).

      The Alternate Low Net went to Annette Brenner (167).

      In the nine-hole competition, the Association Club Champion was Carol Sabine, followed by Joyce Edwards, Sandy Kwiecinski and Gloria Harbour. The A Flight low net went to Nancy Molee, followed by Doris Dupont, Patricia Kelly and Diana Van Hise.

      The B Flight low gross went to Vickie Turco, followed by Genny Peterson and Gail Kornfeld, while the low net went to Toby Lazan, followed by Sylvia Cohen and Beverlee Deardorff

      The C Flight low gross went to Iris Bulgach, followed by Phyllis Van Wagenen and Maxine Cahn, while the low net went to Nancy Powderly, followed by Marge Cardone, Joyce Kazan and Sydell Rice. The Alternate Low Net went to Evelyn Alkhas

      The Hoop Heaven Fall Basketball League is forming now. Girls and boys teams are welcome in grades 3-10. League cost is $995 per team, with a nine-game regular season. The top four teams in each division qualify for playoffs, with 10 games guaranteed for all teams, played weekends from Sept. 17 through Nov. 20. Third- through eighth-grade games are played Friday nights and Saturdays, while high school (JV and varsity games) are played on Sundays. Separate grade/age, competitively balanced divisions will be formed whenever registration permits. Otherwise, divisions will be formed in grade/age pairs as follows — third/fourth, fifth/sixth, seventh/eighth, ninth/10th (JV) and 11th/12th (varsity).       The Monroe Township Soccer Club (MTSC) is now accepting registrations for the fall season. The season starts in mid-September. Registration forms can be filled out and dropped off at the Monroe Recreation Center, 120 Monmouth Road, Monroe.

      The Zebulon Soccer Club and South River Parks and Recreation Department is offering a new youth soccer club. Registrations for recreation (for South River residents from Sept. 1-Oct. 31) and travel teams are currently forming. Registration for travel teams is open to all area boys and girls. Registration will be held at the soccer field on Veterans Drive in South River on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 5-6:30 p.m. in July and August (weather permitting).

      The Central Jersey Hot Shots U16 girls travel soccer team is looking for dedicated and serious players to join their team next season when they play as a U17 team. The team is comprised of many talented high school players from Middlesex, Hunterdon and Union counties. The team plays in the Maps league and competes in many premier tournaments each spring season.
