Postmaster Charles LaTerra invites the public to an event set for 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sept. 7 in the lobby of the East Brunswick Main Post Office, 614 Cranbury Road, to celebrate the expansion of customer access to the new Automated Postal Center (APC) to 24 hours a day and seven days a week.

LaTerra and postal online experts will be in the lobby greeting customers, serving light refreshments, demonstrating how to use the new APC and the Postal Service’s usps.com Web site.

The APC is a free-standing kiosk that accepts credit and debit cards, enables customers to weigh and mail letters and parcels and to purchase stamps. It also dispenses postage in any amount for express mail, priority mail, first-class mail, and parcel post services. The APC provides mailing information, a ZIP code directory and delivery confirmation services. For customers with online computer access, LaTerra also recommends the Postal Service’s usps.com Web site, at which customers may order stamps, print shipping labels with or without postage, ship packages, schedule carrier pickups for packages, send greetings and gifts and use postal services of all types.
