Nov. 3-Dec. 3

• Collection for Soldiers Fighting Overseas in Iraq and Afghanistan, sponsored by Keith Price, a member of Boy Scout Troop No. 33, Milltown. Collection bin is in Milltown Borough Hall, 39 Washington Ave. Items sought: suntan lotion; bug spray; lip balm; feminine products; ear swabs; laundry detergent; bug wipes/bug strips; wipes (travel size); razors; toilet paper; eye drops; spices; tea bags; coffee; small drink mixes; socks; clothesline/pins; snack food; cereal/protein bars; fleece blankets; microwaveable foods (canned or boxed); hard candy/gum; writing materials; batteries (any size); calling cards; packets of hot chocolate. Contributions must be in original packaging. Keith is working to achieve Eagle Scout rank by collecting items to be sent overseas through Operation Shoebox New Jersey 2005.

• Holiday Grave Blanket Sale, sponsored by St. Mary’s Altar Rosary Society, South River. Cost is $20 for a 36-inch blanket decorated with pine cones, poinsettias, bow. • One Stop Holiday Shop, sponsored by the Spotswood High School Band Parents Association, 6-9 p.m., at the high school, 105 Summerhill Road. Holiday boutique featuring cosmetics, baskets, toiletries, kitchen items, stamping items, vendor giveaways. (732) 251-1045.

Nov. 5

• Bazaar, sponsored by the Women’s Guild of the Rossmoor Community Church, Monroe, 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Rossmoor Clubhouse. Merchandise created by the group’s knitters, crafters and sewing group members; a tea room; a soup, sandwich and dessert luncheon; gourmet shop offering homemade treats; silent auction; Grandma’s Attic Sale with “white-elephant” treasures; Grandpa’s Shop with used appliances, tools and miscellaneous items; sales of used books, tapes, videos, toys and gently-used clothing. Most of the proceeds will go to 10 scholarships for Monroe Township High School students. Donations are also made to local charities.

• Craft Fair, sponsored by the East Brunswick Senior Center, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Senior Center, Jean Walling Civic Center Drive. Holiday gifts and decorations; handmade quilted articles; baby items; knitted and crocheted afghans, ponchos; art; homemade baked goods. (732) 390-6896.

• Tricky Tray, sponsored by Raritan Chapter No. 58, Order of the Eastern Star, doors open at 5:30 p.m., auction begins at 7 p.m., at Philo Masonic Lodge, 120 Old Bridge Turnpike, South River. • Roast Beef Election Day Dinner, sponsored by the men of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 6-6:45 p.m., in the parish hall, 90 Leonardine Ave., South River. Dinner served buffet-style. • Card Party, sponsored by St. Thomas the Apostle HSA, doors open at 6:45 p.m., event begins at 8 p.m., in the school auditorium, Route 18 south, Old Bridge. Admission is $15; includes coffee, dessert, door-prize entry, four prize-table tickets, goody bag. Additional raffle tickets available for purchase. Individuals under age 18 will not be admitted. • Art With Heart, sponsored by the Sayreville Pet Adoption Center, hosted by New Jersey-born artist Joe Lugara, 6-7:30 p.m., at the Sayreville Public Library, Washington Road. Lugara will display original artworks; a silent auction will be held for one of the pieces. Light buffet, beverages. All proceeds from admission donations, silent auction and a portion of each sale will help feed and care for the 100 adoptable animals housed at the Sayreville Pet Adoption Center, 1400 Main Street. • Premiere Jewelry Show and Sale, sponsored by Knights of Columbus Columbiettes Council No. 6336, 8 p.m., at the Knights of Columbus Hall, at 83 Lincoln Ave., Monroe. The Columbiettes council is made up of members from the following parishes: St. James, Jamesburg; Holy Trinity, Helmetta; and Nativity of Our Lord, Monroe. Coffee, tea, cake.
