In a recent Sentinel article ("Pucci To Make Changes in Wake of Allegations," May 18), Monroe Township Mayor Richard Pucci, a Democrat, said he had an "established, professional relationship" with "the official voice of the Republican Party."

As the Monroe Township Republican Party (GOP) municipal chairwoman, I have a civil, professional relationship with the mayor, who also serves as the township's Democratic chairman. Does that mean that I have had any business dealings with him or that any money has been involved? Definitely not. Do I agree with Mayor Pucci on issues or his holding duel offices? No. Do I believe Mayor Pucci has a conflict of interest? Yes.

However, I will continue to act in a civil, professional way toward the elected mayor/township Democratic chairman as one individual to another individual.
