Lena R. Pietropollo Mrs. Pietropollo, 77, of Old Bridge, died May 24 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Prior to her retirement in 1978, she was a supervisor with Sunshine Biscuit, Sayreville, where she worked for more than 15 years. She also served as an Old Bridge committeewoman during the 1960s. A son, George, died in 1990. Surviving are her husband, Frank A. Pietropollo; a son, Frank C. of the Parlin section of Sayreville; two daughters, Roseann Colella of Parlin and Toni Pietropollo of Old Bridge; two sisters, Angela and Anna; and seven grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Old Bridge. Entombment was in Holy Cross Burial Park Mausoleum, South Brunswick.
Jean T. Zamorski Grobelny Mrs. Grobelny, 62, of Sayreville, died May 22 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Prior to her recent retirement, she was employed for 13 years as a library assistant at the Sayreville Public Library. Before that, she worked for five years in the religious-education office at Our Lady of Victories Church, Sayreville, and was a registered nurse with the Sayreville Medical Group for 27 years. She was predeceased by her father and mother, Matthew and Margaret Maliszewski Zamorski. Surviving are her husband, Dennis Grobelny; two sons, Edward J. Grobelny of Spotswood and Matthew W. Grobelny Sr. of Barnegat; two sisters, Marianne Hoffman of the Waretown section of Ocean Township and Margaret Zaleski of the Monmouth Junction section of South Brunswick; and five grandchildren. A Mass was offered at Our Lady of Victories Church. Arrangements were under the direction of Sayreville Memorial Funeral Home.
Dorothy Mary Blasucci Dorothy Mary Blasucci, 64, of Ocala, Fla., formerly of Tinton Falls, died June 2 in Munroe Regional Medical Center, Ocala. Prior to her retirement in 2002, she was a school nurse with the Monroe Township Board of Education. Surviving are her husband, Francis; three children, Roseann Woodring of Edison, Christine Anderson of Tinton Falls and Frank Blasucci of Chicago; her mother, Dorothy Modica; two brothers, Frank Modica and Ralph Modica; four sisters, Lenora Riso, Laura Allen, Alice Genzale and Rose Fishler; and four grandchildren, Dylan Anderson, Kyle Anderson, Devin Woodring and Taylor Blasucci.
Anne Macek Mrazek Mrs. Mrazek, 90, of East Brunswick, died May 28 at home. Prior to her retirement in 1970, she was a receptionist at Kimberly-Clark, Spotswood, where she worked for 25 years. Her husband, Joseph, died in 1994. Surviving are three sons, Joseph J. of Las Vegas, Nev., William S. of Redondo Beach, Calif., and Edward P. of Harvey Cedars; a sister, Lillian Matura of Long Island, N.Y.; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Services were held at Brunswick Memorial Home, East Brunswick.
Cecelia Stachura O'Neill Mrs. O'Neill, 84, of East Brunswick, died May 22 at home. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles O'Neill, and by three sons, Stanley O'Neill, Charles O'Neill Jr. and James O'Neill. Surviving are two daughters, Barbara O'Neill of East Brunswick and Charlene Oliveri of Indiana; two brothers, Donald Stachura and Raymond Stachura; and four sisters, Bernice Sadowsky, Gertrude Gerrow, Lorraine Boehm, all of Wisconsin, and Evelyn Romens of Iowa. A Mass was offered at Corpus Christi Church, South River. Interment was in Washington Monumental Cemetery, South River.
Michael A. Lapelosa Jr. Mr. Lapelosa, 63, of Highland Park, died May 29 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Prior to his retirement in 1995, he was an associate at ShopRite, Spotswood, where he worked for nine years. Surviving are his wife, Carol Scully Lapelosa; three daughters, Ann Marie and Jessica, both at home, and Michael Evans of East Brunswick; three sisters, Ruth Ann DiPasquale of Raritan, Patricia Saitta of the Parlin section of Sayreville and Antoinette Conover of New Brunswick; and one grandson. Beatrice Sorkin Rybstein Mrs. Rybstein, 80, of East Brunswick, died May 30 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. Her husband, Irving, died in 1999. Surviving are a daughter, Barbara Hilgetag of East Brunswick; three grandchildren, Tami Browne, Lori Ala and Alex Hilgetag; and nine great-grandchildren. Graveside services were held at Floral Park Cemetery, South Brunswick. Arrangements were by Mount Sinai Memorial Chapels, East Brunswick.
Patricia R. Norton Skinker Mrs. Skinker, 44, of East Brunswick, died May 27 at home. Surviving are her husband, Samuel H.; her parents, Joseph and Patricia McCormick Norton of Ringwood; a brother, Joseph Norton of Phoenix, Ariz.; two sisters, Mary Norton of Waldorf, Md., and Eileen Norton Russo of New York; and 11 nieces and nephews. Private services were under the direction of Brunswick Memorial Home, East Brunswick. Joseph Bogacs Mrs. Bogacs, 84, of Milltown, died May 31 at home. Prior to his retirement in 1980, he was employed as a machine operator with Johnson and Johnson Corp., Personal Products Co., Milltown, where he worked for 34 years. Surviving are his wife, Josephine Vara Bogacs; a daughter, Beverly Valdata of East Brunswick; a son, Joseph Bogacs of Sacramento, Calif.; and four grandchildren. A Mass was offered at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Milltown. Interment was in St. Peter's Cemetery, New Brunswick.
Cecelia Skorka Buczek Mrs. Buczek, 93, of Sayreville, died May 26 in JFK Medical Center, Edison. Prior to her retirement in 1976, she was employed by the borough of Sayreville Water Department as a secretary and bookkeeper. Before that, she worked at General Cigar, South River. She was predeceased by her husband, Walter "Whitey" Buczek. Surviving are a daughter, Katherine Buczek of Sayreville; a brother, John E. Skorka of Sayreville; a niece, Joann Polgar of Sayreville; and two great-nephews. A Mass was offered at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Sayreville. Interment was in the church cemetery.
James E. Charleston Mr. Charleston, 64, of East Brunswick, died May 30 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Prior to his retirement in 2001, he was a co-owner for 30 years of E&C Maintenance, East Brunswick. He was predeceased by his father, James Floyd Charleston, and by his stepfather, Thomas J. Beck. Surviving are his wife, Connie Elliot Charleston; his mother, Katherine Gremillot Charleston Beck of East Brunswick; a son, Stephen, and a daughter, Nicole, both of East Brunswick; three sisters, Jeanne Herbst and Katherine Charleston, both of East Brunswick, and Frances Charleston of Lopatcong; two brothers, Edward Fredric Charleston of Monroe and Daniel Charleston of East Brunswick; a grandson; two stepbrothers, Toms Beck Jr. of Englishtown and Wayne Beck of Jackson; and many nieces and nephews. A Mass was offered at St. Bartholomew's Church, East Brunswick. Interment was in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick. Helen E. Cholewa Mrs. Cholewa, 84, of Sayreville, died June 1 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. Prior to her retirement in 1982, she and her husband, Frank, owned the Jernee Mill Inn, Sayreville, for 25 years. Surviving are her husband, Frank M. Cholewa; two daughters, Barbara Trzaska of East Brunswick and LaVerne Cholewa of the Columbus section of Mansfield Township; a grandson; and two great-grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Sayreville. Interment was in the church cemetery.
