Israeli comedy-drama to be shown at festival

The Friends of the Monroe Township Library Summer International Film Festival will continue on Aug. 10 at the library, 4 Municipal Plaza, with 2 and 6:30 p.m. showings of the Israeli comedy-drama "Nina's Tragedies." The movie is not rated. Running time is 110 minutes.

The film, which was directed by Savi Gabizon, takes a look at a confusing world through the eyes of a 14-year-old boy who develops a crush on his recently widowed aunt. The young woman is doubly thrown for a loop when she seems to see her late husband lurking at her window.

The remaining movie in the festival, "Brothers" (Danish, 2004, 110 minutes, rated R), will be shown on Aug. 17.

Tickets are available for a $1 donation at the library. All films will be shown at 2 and 6:30 p.m. For more information, call (732) 521-5000.
