The Golden Bear Chargers Junior Midget team from East Brunswick/Spotswood defeated the defending state champion Dover Packers, 29-0, to open their quest for a third straight Central Jersey championship. QB Dean Vitale hit Sean Hudson with a 34-yard strike and then ran for a 26-yard run to the two-yard line, where Garret Walters plunged in. In the second quarter Mark Kukoda made a spectacular catch to set up another two-yard run by Walters, making it 14-0. Then Troy Zeiger raced 22 yards for GBC's third score, before Dan McCracken kicked the two-point conversion for a 22-0 half-time lead.
