Ciro F. Sinagra
Mr. Sinagra, 58, of Wolfeboro, N.H., formerly of Milltown and North Brunswick, died Sept. 2 in Huggins Hospital, Wolfeboro. A Milltown police officer from 1972-1983, he was assistant director of the Middlesex County Police Academy from 1983-1987 and an investigator with the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office from 1987-1998. He was a former general manager at a Harley Davidson dealership in Edison and served as a motorcycle-safety instructor. Surviving are his wife, Silke Psula Sinagra; his father and mother, Ciro S. and Rosina Laduca Sinagra of Marryville, Tenn., a daughter, Dawn of New Jersey; a brother, Joe S. Sinagra of Helmetta; two sisters, Mary Fama of Milltown and Julie Beerli of Andrews, N.C.; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service with military honors was held at Brewster Academy Assembly Hall, Wolfeboro, the Rev. Bryce Whiting officiating. A second service is planned for 3-6 p.m. on Sept. 9 at American Legion Hall, 4 JFK Drive, Milltown. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to any local police association. Arrangements were under the direction of Baker-Gagne Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Wolfeboro.
Ashley E. Barton
Ashley, 17, of Old Bridge, died Sept.. 5 as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. She was a student at Old Bridge High School, where she was a member of the Peer Leadership program and the Spanish Honor Society. Her grandmother, Lily E. Kreiss, died in 2002. Surviving are her parents, Tracy and Jon Pulaski; a sister, Nicole Pulaski, at home; her grandparents, Walter R. Kreiss of Old Bridge, Barbara and Charles Pulaski of Edison and Charles J. Barton of North Plainfield; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Visitation is set for 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Sept. 8 at Gundrum Service Home for Funerals, South Amboy. Services will be held at noon on Sept. 9 at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent section of Manalapan.
Peter Matseur
Mr. Matseur, 78, of North Brunswick, formerly of South River and Highland Park, died Aug. 31 at home. He was predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth Hettich Matseur, in 1982. Surviving are two sons, Peter T. Matseur of Highland Park and Christopher Matseur of Brick; three daughters, Elizabeth Susan Munoz of Far Hills, Donna Minkler of Monroe and Deborah Light of Aurora, Ohio; a brother, Harry Matseur of Spotswood; a sister, Amelia Bielski of East Brunswick; his companion, Lucy Taylor of East Brunswick; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. John the Baptist Church, New Brunswick. Interment was in St. Peter's Cemetery, New Brunswick. Ralph Moyle
Mr. Moyle, 58, of South River, died Aug. 30 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. He was superintendent of Washington Monumental Cemetery, South River, for many years. He was predeceased by his parents, Zacharias Moyle and Evelyn Holmes Moyle. Surviving are a sister and brother-in-law, Kathleen and Leroy Schneider of South River; a brother and sister-in-law, William and Cathy Moyle of Spotswood; an aunt, Helen Foyle of East Brunswick; and many cousins. Private services were under the direction of Rezem Funeral Home, East Brunswick.
Frank Rega
Mr. Rega, 85, of North Brunswick, died Aug. 30 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. He was employed in the maintenance department at Rutgers University, New Brunswick, for 35 years, retiring in 1986. He was predeceased by his first wife, Rena Letts Rega, in 1977, and by his second wife, Elizabeth Bowen Rega, in 1991. Surviving are a son, John Rega of Milltown; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Arrangements were by Selover Funeral Home, North Brunswick.
Earl R. Krause
Mr. Krause, 82, of Milltown, died Aug. 23 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Prior to his retirement in 1988, he was an area maintenance supervisor at E.R. Squibb, North Brunswick, where he worked for 42 years. Before that, he was employed with Weller and Pardun Contracting, North Brunswick. His wife, Rita, died in 2005. Surviving are a son, Earl M. Krause of East Brunswick; a daughter, Cheryl Franklin of the Leonardo section of Middletown; two brothers, Richard Krause of Sayreville and Donald Krause of Florida; a sister, Thelma Mulligan of Florida; a granddaughter; and a great-granddaughter. A funeral literary was offered at St. Bartholomew's Church, East Brunswick. Interment was in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick.
Olga Cerekwas O'Neill
Mrs. O'Neill, 97, of South River, died Aug. 27 in Reformed Church Home, Old Bridge. Prior to her retirement in 1986, she was the owner of O'Neill's Tavern, South River. Her husband, John, died in 1988. Surviving are two sons, Peter of South River and John of Manasquan; a brother, George of South River; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A liturgy was offered at Saints Peter and Paul Russian Orthodox Church, South River. Interment was in the church cemetery. Theresa Quinlan Ritter
Mrs. Ritter, 68, of South River, died Aug. 30 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. She was predeceased by a daughter, Ruth Ann Ritter, in 1985. Surviving are her husband, Richard Ritter; three daughters, Robin Ritter and Donna Kish, both of East Brunswick, and Susan Click of Brick; two sisters, Mary Bruce and Marcella Madeline, both of Florida; a brother, Dennis Quinlan of the Parlin section of Sayreville; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Services were held at Maliszewski Funeral Home, South River. Interment was in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, East Brunswick.
Marianne J. Jackman Butchyk
Mrs. Butchyk, 88, of East Brunswick, formerly of Monroe, died Sept. 4 in Saint Peter's University Hospital, New Brunswick. A kindergarten aide at St. Thomas the Apostle School, Old Bridge, she also taught religious education and served as a Eucharistic minister at Mass at St. Thomas the Apostle Church. Her husband, John, died in 1992. Surviving are a son, Roger of East Brunswick; a daughter, Elaine Keith of Raymond, Maine; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. A Mass was offered at St. Thomas the Apostle Church. Cremation was private. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Thomas the Apostle School, 1 St. Thomas Plaza, Old Bridge, NJ 08857.
Helen C. Pikul Walker
Mrs. Walker, 83, of East Brunswick, died Sept. 4 in Saint Peter's University Hospital, New Brunswick. A part-time sales associate for many years at Macy's, East Brunswick, she also served as chairperson of the Adult Flower Show at the Middlesex County Fair and as an East Brunswick poll worker and poll judge. Her first husband, Frank Pikul, died in 1985, and her second husband, James Walker, died in 2003. Surviving are two sons, Gregory Pikul of Metuchen and Timothy Pikul of the Kendall Park section of South Brunswick; two daughters, Cynthia Pikul of Suffern, N.Y., and Paula Pikul of New York City; a stepson, James S. Walker of Marlboro; a stepdaughter, Robin S. Taylor of Orlando, Fla.; and five grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Bartholomew's Church, East Brunswick. Interment was in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick. Memorial contributions may be made to the East Brunswick Woman's Club for a garden memorial at the East Brunswick Public Library.
Marie Kish Franchino
Mrs. Franchino, 70, of South River, died Aug. 31 at home. Prior to her retirement in 1995, she was employed as a school bus driver for more than 20 years with the South River Board of Education. Her husband, Joseph, died in 2005. Surviving are three children, Marie Franchino Johnson of South River, Candace Franchino of the Laurence Harbor section of Old Bridge and Joseph Franchino of East Brunswick; two brothers, Kevin and Gary Kish, both of Spotswood; four sisters, LaVerne Mosco of New Brunswick, Maureen Smolinski of South Amboy, Lois Banko of East Brunswick and Sharon Kish of Florida; and four grandchildren. A Mass was offered at Corpus Christi Church, South River. Entombment was in Holy Cross Burial Park Mausoleum, South Brunswick.
