      Residents ignore leaf-disposal rules, create unsafe conditions
            Why is it that East Brunswick residents are so concerned with having blue-ribbon schools that provide a top-notch education, yet they can't seem to read and follow basic directions when it comes to leaf collection? The township has spent time and money on educating the residents as to the proper way to dispose of leaves, and yet many residents completely ignore these instructions.

            As the Spotswood High School History Club and Octagon Community Service Club end their fall drive on behalf of the DVDS4TROOPS program, we would like to thank the good people of this town for their generosity and their concern for our troops at war.

      Web site strives to offer environmental info
            Recently the East Brunswick Environmen-tal Commission Web site, www.njnaturenotes.com, received the Association of New Jersey Environmental Commissions (ANJEC) 2006 Environmental Achievement Award. We proudly add this to previously received awards for (among other things) our Salamander Crossing Project and the Butterfly Park.

      Time to work together for a better borough
