Florence Raneri Nugent
Mrs. Nugent, 76, of Old Bridge, died Nov. 17, 2006, in Saint Peter's University Hospital, New Brunswick. A son, Thomas Nugent Jr., died in 2004. Surviving are her husband, Thomas Nugent Sr.; her mother, Josephine Baker of Elizabeth; four sons, Robert Nugent, Kevin Nugent, Mark Nugent and David Nugent, all of Old Bridge; three daughters, Susan Curran of Old Bridge, Debbie McCauley of Marlboro and Linda Nugent of East Brunswick; a sister, Grace Raneri of Newark; a daughter-in-law, Beth Nugent of Helmetta; 14 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. A Mass was offered at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Old Bridge. Interment was in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick.
Hazel Watts
Mrs. Watts, 76, of Monroe, died Nov. 17, 2006, in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Her husband, Fred Watts, died in 1996. Surviving are two daughters, Karen Junquet of Monroe and Linda Parillo of South River; and five grandchildren. Services were held at Rezem Funeral Home, East Brunswick. Interment was private. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
Helen Gorsky
Mrs. Gorsky, 82, of Margate, Fla., formerly of South River, died Nov. 26, 2006. She worked as a bookkeeper for five years at the former Howard Johnson's Motor Lodge, New Brunswick, and later as a bookkeeper for Zagata Fabricators Inc., Sayreville. Her husband, Joseph, died in 1992. Surviving are a son, Joseph of Margate; a daughter, Susan Mead of Davie, Fla.; a brother, William Tomredle of Pine Beach; and three grandsons. Memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans Association or to the Paralyzed Veterans of America.
Eric J. Ng
Mr. Ng, 22, died Dec. 1, 2006, when he was struck by an allegedly drunk driver on a bike path near the West Side Highway, New York City. A graduate of East Brunswick High School, he recently earned a degree in math and history from New York University, New York City. Surviving are his parents, Tony Ng and Wendy S. Locke Ng of East Brunswick; a sister, Alison of Philadelphia; his grandfather, Jack Locke of New York; and his grandmother, Chiu Cheung Ng, also of New York. Services were held at Rezem Funeral Home, East Brunswick. Entombment was in Frost Woods Cemetery, East Brunswick.
Jessie Lillian VanLiew Amrein
Mrs. Amrein, 82, of North Brunswick, formerly of Milltown, died Dec. 2, 2006, in Saint Peter's University Hospital, New Brunswick. Her husband, Robert Amrein, died in 1992. Surviving are a daughter, Patricia A. Bloodgood of Escondido, Calif.; a brother, Joseph VanLiew of Highland Park; two sisters-in-law, Mary Amrein of Gainesville, Fla., and Fran Amrein of East Brunswick; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation is set for 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. on Dec. 7 at Selover Funeral Home, North Brunswick. A service is planned for 10 a.m. on Dec. 8 at the funeral home. Entombment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park, North Brunswick.
Rollin H. Fagely
Mr. Fagely, 40, of South River, died Nov. 30, 2006, at home. He was a letter carrier for 10 years with the U.S. Postal Service, Edison. He was a member of the 1983 South River High School state championship football team. Surviving are his parents, Janet and Donald Fagely of South River; two sisters, Judy Fagely-McGurl of Little Silver and Michele Fagely-Ciprut of Manalapan; and two nieces and two nephews. Services were held at Brunswick Memorial Home, East Brunswick. Interment was in Washington Monumental Cemetery, South River. Mrs. Derechailo, of East Brunswick, died Dec. 3, 2006, in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. She was predeceased by her husband, Stephen J. Derechailo, in 1989, and by a grandson, Trevor Henry, in 2003. Surviving are a son, Stephen J. Derechailo Jr. of East Brunswick; a daughter, Terry Henry of North Brunswick; two sisters-in-law, Helen Ostroski and Kay Derechailo; and three grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Mary of Ostrabrama Church, South River. Interment was in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Brunswick.
Joan M. Devine Garrabrant
Mrs. Garrabrant, 77, of Monroe, formerly of East Brunswick, died Dec. 4, 2006, in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. She was predeceased by her husband, Edward Garrabrant, in 1996; a son, Donald, in 1999; a daughter, Elizabeth Ann, in 1961; and a grandchild, Edward William III. Surviving are a son, Edward W. Garrabrant of South Brunswick; three daughters, Joanne Childs of Easton, Pa., Susan Garrabrant of Monroe and Deborah Krypel of Helmetta; 14 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. A Mass will be offered on Dec. 7 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Bartholomew's Church, East Brunswick. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick. Mrs. Meehan, 93, of East Brunswick, died Nov. 24, 2006, in Care One, East Brunswick. Her husband, William L. Meehan, died in 1972. Surviving are a daughter, Elizabeth A. Healy, and her husband, Richard, of Lakewood; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Bartholomew's Church, East Brunswick. Elsa Bernardi Stachowicz
Mrs. Stachowicz, 83, of South River, died Nov. 30, 2006, in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Prior to her retirement in 1986, she worked for 20 years as a seamstress with Mako Sportswear and Brodsky and Sons Clothing, both South River. Surviving are her husband, Stanley Stachowicz; two sons, Joseph of Chicago and Ricky of Princeton; a brother, Enrico Bernardi, and four sisters, Silvana Paronetto, Giovannina Bernardi, Stefania Nanni and Laila Vanucci, all of Rimini, Italy. A Mass was offered at St. Mary of Ostrabrama Church, South River. Interment was in Our Lady of Czestochwa Cemetery, Doylestown, Pa.
Agnes Ledford Voorhees
Mrs. Voorhees, 83, of Monroe, formerly of Edison, died Dec. 1, 2006, in Cranbury Center, Monroe. Her husband, Garrett W. Voorhees Jr., died in January. Surviving are a son, Garrett W. Voorhees III, and his wife, Lynn, of South Brunswick; a brother, Emanuel Ledford of Oakwood, N.Y.; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A service was held at Brunswick Memorial Home, East Brunswick. Interment was in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick. Theresa A. Safner Daniewicz
Mrs. Daniewicz, 76, of the Cliffwood section of Aberdeen, formerly of Milltown, died Dec. 4, 2006, in Bayshore Health Care, Holmdel. Her husband, Walter Daniewicz, died in 1994. Surviving are a son, Ronald Daniewicz of Keyport; a daughter, Kathleen De La Villa of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; two sisters, Ann Bruni of Spotswood and Joann Thompson of Largo, Fla.; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Mr. Rebele, 80, of East Brunswick, died Nov. 28, 2006, at home. He was predeceased by three infant daughters. Surviving are his wife, Rosemarie Carroll Rebele; six sons, Walter Rebele III of Wentworth, N.H., Dr. James Rebele of Pittsburgh, Robert Rebele and Edward Rebele, both of Old Bridge, John Rebele of East Brunswick and Thomas Rebele of Spotswood; five daughters, Carol Brunit of Plumsted, Rosemarie McNamara and Mary Albecker, both of Monroe, Barbara Clark of East Brunswick and Eileen McFarlane of the Robbinsville section of Washington Township; a brother, William Rebele of Pawtucket, R.I.; 33 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Services were held at Rezem Funeral Home, East Brunswick. Interment was in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
