      Town cannot adopt ordinance, then refuse to enforce it
            I was disturbed to read that the East Brunswick Township administration has no intention of enforcing the regulations related to leaf collection. Township Attorney Michael Baker has been quoted as saying that there is no intention to issue a series of tickets to violators of the leaf ordinance.

      Municipal courts are inherently unfair
            Municipal courts and schools are a primary source of tax revenue for the municipal government. The problem is the municipal courts are structured in such a way to give preference to the testimony of the police. First, municipal judges are hired by local politicians.

      Veterans rate thanks, praise
            I would like to send my sincere gratitude to the veterans of American Legion Post No. 211 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 4699, both Sayreville, who honored my brother, Woodrow Haussermann, with a street sign in Sayreville and with a plaque at the library. It is so gratifying to know that he is not forgotten after all these years.
