      Brookdale women off to NJCAA tournament
            To call the Brookdale Community College women's basketball team a group of overachievers wouldn't do them justice. Coaches Joanne Cobb and Marianne Campacci may have assembled a team without stars and name recognition, but not without talent.

      Middlesex coach sees success on the horizon
            EDISON - "March Madness" came a little early for the Middlesex County College men's basketball team this season. The Colts recently completed an outstanding 2006-07 season that saw them finish a glossy 25-3, capture the Region 19 North championship, and come within one game of reaching the Junior College Division III national quarterfinals.

            Women golfers are cordially invited to attend the Tamarack Women's 18-Hole Golf Association's opening spring breakfast meeting, which is scheduled for Tuesday, March 27 at 9:30 a.m. at the Seville Diner on Route 18 south, East Brunswick. The meeting will be open to the entire membership including prospective members.

            Fish On And the Hi-Mar fishing club awards go to ... The Hi-Mar Striper Club in Sandy Hook held its annual Angler of the Year awards dinner this past weekend. All who attended had a good time. Bernie Sweeney, at the Shore Casino, Atlantic Highlands, put out his usual great spread.

            The Monroe U12 Lady Falcons won their North Brunswick League quarterfinal game but fell in the semifinals. In the quarterfinal game, Monroe defeated the East Brunswick seventh-grade squad, 38-28.
