      Rutgers ready to test the limits of destiny
      Team enters Final Four believing in itself more than ever
            After the Rutgers women's basketball team beat Michigan State in the third round of the NCAA tournament, Spartan head coach Joanne P. Callie said confidently that the Scarlet Knights could beat anyone in the country. Granted, she said they would need to maintain the high level of play that they used to dominate the Spartans, but her point held true.

            On March 22, the best senior basketball players the Greater Middlesex Conference had to offer got together for one last game.

      Bombers should be in White Division mix
            With 10 seniors back, including the its entire pitching staff, the Sayreville High School baseball team is looking to make a run at the Greater Middlesex Conference (GMC) White Division title. Last season the Bombers posted an 11-12 mark and finished tied for second in the division, narrowly missing a bid to the NJSIAA Central Jersey Group IV tourney.

      Lady Knights ready to defend their GMC title
            The Old Bridge High School girls lacrosse team enters the spring season as the defending Greater Middlesex Conference (GMC) champions and with most of its key players back the Lady Knights are looking for a repeat performance. Last season coach Steve Gajewski's girls went 15-4 overall, won the GMC regular season crown and went on to win the GMC Tournament.

            The Raritan Bay Cougars Pop Warner will be holding registration for football and cheer for ages 5-15 on Friday, April 13 from 7-9 p.m. and Saturday, April 14 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Madison Park Field House on Cheesequake Road. Registration fees are $60 for single participant, $85 for family and $100 work bond to be refunded after 12 hours of service.
