I contacted the East Brunswick Board of Education to confirm Ms. Abramowitz's statements. I spoke with a board official, and I learned that East Brunswick has in fact accepted this year's state aid. More ... The Old Bridge school administration just doesn't get it. The 2007-08 budget is $130 million, and the administration's only regret is that they couldn't get more. Old Bridge taxpayers, on the other hand, are outraged that their taxes will be increased even though they are already overburdened. This is not a budget of need, but one of greed. More ... Sayreville Pet Adoption Center, 1400 Main St., will hold a Giant Garage Sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on April 14 in the shelter's parking lot. Donations of items for the sale will be accepted at the shelter from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on April 13 and 14 only. Linens and shoes will not be accepted.
