      Young Rams may be more than meets the eye
            Teams that dismiss the South River Rams as a young baseball team that's going to struggle are in for a surprise. At least that's what 10th-year head coach Michael Lepore Jr. believes, as his Rams prepare to sneak up on their opponents with a mostly inexperienced but talented team.

      Knights look to pick up where they left off
            The Old Bridge High School baseball team is looking to pick up where it left off a year ago when it made its way to the semifinals of the Greater Middlesex Conference (GMC) Tournament The Knights went 17-10-1 a year ago, after struggling out of the gate with a 5-6 start. Old Bridge downed Spotswood and JFK before falling to South Amboy in the GMC semifinal.

      Old Bridge golfers in the Red Division mix
            The Old Bridge High School golf team will look to four returning players to carry the load this spring as the Knights look to contend in the Greater Middlesex Conference's (GMC) Red Division. A year ago, Old Bridge posted an 8-5 mark (6-4 in conference play) and finished fifth in the GMC Tournament.

            Fish On Plenty of fish for fresh and saltwater anglers The freshwater 2007 trout season officially begins in all waters open to public angling on Saturday at 8 a.m. Each spring approximately 570,000 trout are stocked in the state's public waters during the season. Standard production trout average 10.5 inches but range up to 12 inches.
