Pet shelter garage sale
will be held April 22
Sayreville Pet Adoption Center, 1400 Main St., will hold its Giant Garage Sale April 22 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the shelter's parking lot. The date was rescheduled from last weekend.

Registration under way for Garbarini golf event
Milltown Fire Department will present the fifth annual Charles Garbarini golf outing June 11 at Cranbury Golf Club, 49 Southfield Road, West Windsor. The shotgun scramble begins at 10 a.m.
Charles Garbarini was a Lieutenant with the New York City Fire Department, and was lost on Sept. 11, 2001. Cost is $135 per person, which includes donuts, coffee, lunch and buffet dinner. There will be prizes for winning teams, longest drives, closest to the pin, door prizes, and "Beat the Hunky." Proceeds benefit charities, and other causes requested by the Garbarini family. Graduates to be honored at Scholarship Dinner
The Friends of Henry "Spud" Dobenski Jr. are sponsoring a Scholarship Dinner to present the 2007 recipients with their scholarships and meet last year's winners. Dobenski was known as "Mr. Jamesburg" and loved the community he so often referred to as "Pleasant Valley." The group is seeking support in recognizing Monroe Township High School graduates from Jamesburg by acknowledging their achievements.

Magic show to mark
Week of Young Child
Kiddie Academy of East Brunswick, 635 Cranbury Road, will celebrate the National Association for the Education of Young Children's The Week of the Young Child with a magic show featuring Ferris the Great at 4 p.m. on April 25.

The East Brunswick Division of Recreation and Arts Commission will welcome the King Lai Cultural Dance Theater, which will perform "Lady of the Moon & New York, New York" April 21 at 7 p.m.
The free performance of dance and song will be presented at East Brunswick High School, Cranbury Road, and will feature elaborate Chinese dress versus New York style, and traditional Chinese songs versus classic New York tunes.

Tricky Tray proceeds
to aid church outreach
The Vestry of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church of South River, 90 Leonardine Ave., will sponsor its annual Tricky Tray, beginning at 7:30 p.m. on April 28. Doors will open at 6 p.m. Tickets cost $7 each and will be available at the door; the price includes one sheet of tricky-tray tickets. Space is limited. Prizes will include more than 200 gift baskets, gift certificates, a 50/50 raffle, door prizes, a mystery prize and a color television. The Level Club of South River is seeking vendors for its semi-annual yard sale May 5 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the grove area of the Masonic Temple, 120 Old Bridge Turnpike, Sayreville (rain date May 6). Doll club schedules
April 29 show and sale
The Young at Heart Doll Club will host its 19th annual show and sale from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on April 29 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Monroe, Exit 8A off the New Jersey Turnpike.
The show will feature antique and collectible dolls, teddy bears and accessories. A doll hospital and appraiser will be on hand. Surprise guests are scheduled. Refreshments will be available.
Admission is $5 for adults ($4 with a copy of this notice), $1 for children. Parking is free of charge. Proceeds from the event will benefit the doll club's charitable activities.

Meditation panel slates
open house at library
The Sahaj Marg Spirituality Foundation will hold an open house from 12:30-2:30 p.m. on April 21 at the Milltown Public Library, West Church Street.
Sahaj marg is a form of raj yoga meditation designed to integrate the physical, mental and spiritual aspects of the human being and lead to the regulation of the mind, making it an instrument of both individual and social well-being.

School volleyball game
to benefit MS research
The Spotswood High School Octagon Service Club and History Club will sponsor their annual Volleyball Game to Fight Multiple Sclerosis (MS) from 6-8 p.m. on April 25 in the gym at the high school, Summerhill Road.
