Resident praises efforts of Milltown Fire Department
As one of the countless Milltown residents that was affected by the April nor'easter, I would like to recognize and thank the volunteer members of the Milltown Fire Department for all their hard work and dedication. I had the unfortunate situation of having to bail out my basement bucket by bucket. But thanks to the help of a neighbor, I was able to keep the damage to a minimum.
Yet knowing I would be able to call the fire department if the flooding got out of hand, gave me peace of mind. That being said, I know there were many residents that relied on the fire department to assist them during the storm, and help them they did.
I am not sure if everyone in this town realizes that these selfless men of the Milltown Fire Department are volunteers. They do not get paid to answer the call, yet they did answer call after call for 24 hours straight. They did not sleep. They left their own families, and their own homes to be there for the community.
Again, I would like to offer my sincere thanks to all the men of the Milltown Volunteer Fire Department. Because of your dedication and courage, you made getting through this crisis a little easier.
God bless.
