      I am proud to live in a community that hosted an event in support of Global Days for Darfur (April 23-29). More than 300 U.S. cities in 44 states planned events, and East Brunswick was one of them. On April 26, children, teens and adults from North Jersey and Central Jersey performed a staged reading of the play "Judgment on Genocide" at the East Brunswick Public Library.

Thanks for helping wounded soldiers
      On behalf of the Veterans Council of Monroe and Jamesburg, I want to express our thanks to the wonderful people of Monroe, Jamesburg and South Brunswick for their contributions. Their overwhelming generosity made it possible for us to deliver a busload of needed supplies to the wounded soldiers at Walter Reed Army Hospital. The soldiers were very appreciative.

Resident offers advice to gov. on finding sources of revenue
      This is a copy of a letter I recently wrote to Gov. Jon Corzine.I have several suggestions on the revenues you need to obtain. First of all, did you look at the income tax deductions? The deduction for a child is $1,500, while for an adult it is $1,000. The child deduction should only be $500-$750.
