August Horbac

Mr. Horbac, 77, of Whiting, died April 19, 2007, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. He was a 43-year member of South Old Bridge Fire Company. He was predeceased by a brother, Walter Horbac. He is survived by his wife, Dolores Fitzgerald Horbac; a son and daughter-in-law, Patrick and Mary Kate Horbac of Hoboken; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Charlene Picot of Mahwah, Maureen and Joe Prat of Newtown, Pa., and Doreen and John Bohme of Wall Township; and three grandchildren. burial was at Fairmont Cemetery, Newark. Arrangements were by Rezem Funeral Home, East Brunswick.

Benedict W. Butkiewicz

Mr. Butkiewicz, 84, of Sayreville, died March 23, 2007, in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a chemical operator at Hatco Chemical Co., Fords section of Woodbridge. Surviving are a daughter, Donna Resch, and her husband, Howard, of East Brunswick; a brother, Walter Butkiewicz of Sayreville; a granddaughter, Lori Kluska; and a great-grandson. Services were held at Maliszewski Memorial Home, Sayreville. Cremation was private.

Charlotte Kreider Doerflein

Mrs. Doerflein, 96, of Monroe, died March 23, 2007, in Reformed Church Home, Old Bridge. She was predeceased by her husband, Herbert Doerflein, and by two sons, Kenneth and Robert Doerflein. Surviving are a daughter, Carol Franks, and her husband, Richard, of Monroe; a son, Richard Doerflein of the Avenel section of Woodbridge; 12 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. Services were held at Brunswick Memorial Home, East Brunswick. Cremation was private. Martha E. Williams Rebert

Mrs. Rebert, 100. of East Brunswick, died April 6, 2007, at Cranbury Center, Monroe Township. She was predeceased by her husband, Gerald C. Rebert in 1986. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Marcia J. and Bruce Peter of East Brunswick; a son and daughter-in-law, Ted W. and Dolores Langdon of Huntington, W. Va.; five grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. A memorial service was held at Trinity Presbyterian Church, East Brunswick. burial was at Woodmere Cemetery, Huntington, W. Va. Edward W. Skifski

Mr. Skifski, 82, of South River, died April 22, 2007, at home. He was employed at Rutgers University, New Brunswick, for 35 years, retiring in 1984. He was predeceased by his wife, Olga Yarosky Skifski in 1989; and five sisters, Helen Wolczynski, Jennie Appleby, Irene Nemeth, Carmaleta Zalewski and Edwina Clausen. He is survived by a son, William Skifski of South River; a sister, Florence Mondrick of South River; and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Saint Mary of Ostrabrama Roman Catholic Church, South River. Burial was at Saint Mary's Cemetery, East Brunswick. Arrangements were by Maliszewski Funeral Home, South River.

Nadia Wojciechowski

Mrs. Wojciechowski, 89, of Dallas, Pa., and formerly South River, died April 8, 2007, at Meadow View Care Center, Dallas, Pa. She was predeceased by her husband, Ksenofont Wojciechowski in 1985. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Kon and Berdie Worth of Escondido, Calif., and Nicholas and Karen Worth of North Carolina; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Val and Everett Cowett of Greensboro, N.C.; Halina and Tony Kuczura of Dallas, Pa.; and Zina Hutnik of Minsk, Belarus; 13 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. A funeral service was held at St. Euphrosynia Belarus Orthodox Church, South River, with burial at the church cemetery. Arrangements were by Maliszewski Funeral home, South River.

Ann M. Rzucek Rusay

Mrs. Rusay, 85, of Sayreville, died March 13, 2007, in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Prior to her retirement in 1985, she was employed for 40 years as a seamstress with Berman Manufacturing Co. and R&P Wash Suit, both South River. Her husband, Frederick T. Rusay, died in 2003. Surviving are two sons, Mitch Rusay, and his wife, Diane, of East Brunswick, and the Rev. Leonard Rusay of Readington; a sister, Mary Balwierczak of the Fords section of Woodbridge; two grandsons; and many nieces and nephews. A Mass was offered at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Sayreville. Interment was in the church cemetery.

James S. Novak Sr.

Mr. Novak, 83, of Sayreville, died April 11, 2007, at Care One of East Brunswick. He was an exempt member of the Helmetta Fire Department. He was predeceased by his wife, Dolores Tuffs in 2002; a son, Warren; and a granddaughter, Christie Novak. He is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Ronald Cross of Delaware, Jane and Harvey Hansen of the Laurence Harbor section of Old Bridge, and Dorrie and Angle Hoagland of Delaware; two sons and one daughter-in-law, James S. and Mary Novak Jr. of Sayreville, and Keith Novak of Florida; a daughter-in-law, Lucy Novak of South River; 14 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. Burial was at Chestnut Hill Cemetery, East Brunswick. Arrangements were by Maliszewski Funeral Home, Sayreville.

Antonina Schroll

Mrs. Schroll, 58, of Spotswood, formerly of South River, died March 15, 2007, in Briarwood Nursing Home, South Amboy. Surviving are her husband, Walter Schroll; a son, Walter, and his wife, Tanya, of Old Bridge; three daughters, Jennifer Wenger, and her husband, Christopher, and Annmarie Vogel, and her husband, Henry, all of Monroe, and Lisa Schroll of Spotswood; a brother, Andrew Parisi of Jersey City; and five grandchildren. A Mass was offered at Immaculate Conception Church, Spotswood. Interment was in the church cemetery.

Margaret DeBartolo Hennessey

Mrs. Hennessey, 81, of Milltown, died April 25, 2007, at Saint Peter's University Hospital, New Brunswick. She was a supervisor at Carter Wallace, Cranbury, retiring in 1988. She also drove handicapped children for the North Brunswick Board of Education. She was predeceased by two daughters, Patricia Ann Hennessey and Nancy Patricia Hertler; and a son, James Patrick Hennessey. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Marjorie and Rand Guise of Milltown; two sisters-in-law, Helen Rannells of Bridgewater, and Josephine Hoehler of New York; a brother, Joseph DeBartolo; and three grandchildren. Interment was at Van Liew Cemetery, North Brunswick. Arrangements were by The Crabiel Home for Funerals, Milltown.

Jean Baranowski

Mrs. Baranowski, 92, of South River, died April 14, 2007, at home. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph, in 1992. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Arlene and Edward Strugala of South River; a son, Richard Baranowski of Milwaukee; a brother, Alfred Mirutkin; a granddaughter; and a great-granddaughter. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Mary of Ostrabrama Roman Catholic Church, South River. Burial was at St. Mary's Cemetery, East Brunswick. Arrangements were by Maliszewski Funeral Home, South River.

Jack C. Samson

Mr. Samson, 72 of East Brunswick, died April 18, 2007, at home. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Elinor Solomon Samson; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Matthew of the Avenel section of Woodbridge, and Lee and Kristin of Summit; a daughter, Sue Samson of the Laurence Harbor section of Old Bridge; a sister and brother-in-law, Harriet and Mark Kay of Wyndmoor, Pa.; and two grandchildren. Interment was at Beth Israel Cemetery, Woodbridge. Arrangements were by Mount Sinai memorial Chapels Inc., East Brunswick.

Angelo C. Cinquegrana Sr.

Mr. Cinquegrana, 63, of Jamesburg, died April 28, 2007, in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. He was head custodian and supervisor with the Monroe Township school system for 25 years, retiring this year. He is survived by his wife, Doris A. Duh Cinquegrana; two sons and daughters-in-law, Angelo C. and Theresa Cinquegrana Jr. of Edison and Nicholas A. and Deborah Cinquegrana of Monroe; three daughters, Nancy A. Price of Sayreville, Ann Marie Cinquegrana of South Brunswick and Karen A. Jensen of Jamesburg; two brothers, Charles of Indiana and Donald of Florida; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Grace Medina of Dayton, Ohio, and Lena and Rosario Mele of Sayreville; and nine grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was offered at St. James Roman Catholic Church, Jamesburg. Entombment was in Holy Cross Burial Park Mausoleum, South Brunswick.

Helen Marcinczyk Reed

Mrs. Reed, 92, of the Parlin section of Sayreville, died April 28, 2007, in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. She was predeceased by her husband, Russell G. Reed, in 1990. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Richard Kurczeski of Sayreville and Joan and Clarence Wentzel of Lebanon; a sister, Catherine DeStefano of East Brunswick; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. A Mass was celebrated at St. Stanislaus Kostka Roman Catholic Church, Sayreville. Interment was in New Calvary Cemetery, Parlin.

Rita Joan Alpert Brown

Mrs. Brown, 78, of East Brunswick, died April 25, 2007, in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. She was predeceased by her husband, Gerry Brown in 1987. She is survived by a son, Kenneth Brown of Colchester, Vt.; a daughter and son-in-law, Joanne and Chuck Stockum of Monroe; a sister, June Schofield of New York City; and four grandchildren. Interment was in Beth-El Cemetery, Washington Township. Arrangements were by Mount Sinai Memorial Chapels, East Brunswick. Memorial donations may be made to National Parkinson's Foundation, 1501 N.W. Stanley J. Vengen

Mr. Vengen, 91, of East Brunswick, died April 26, 2007, in Saint Peter's University Hospital, New Brunswick. He is survived by his wife, Lenore Phyllis Vengen; three daughters and their spouses, Lenore Promaulayko of Milltown, and Deborah Sweeney and Carrie Sempkowski, both East Brunswick; and four grandchildren. A Mass was celebrated at St. Bartholomew's Roman Catholic Church, East Brunswick. Entombment was in Holy Cross Burial Park Mausoleum, South Brunswick. Arrangements were by Rezem Funeral Home, East Brunswick.

Lorraine Nicol Marino

Mrs. Marino, 82, of Zellwood Station, Fla., formerly East Brunswick, died April 24, 2007, in Sunbelt East Nursing Home, Apopka, Fla. Surviving are her husband, Gerard N. Marino; a daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and Ron Verna of the Toms River section of Dover; two sons and daughters-in-law, Gerard and Morie Marino of Old Bridge and Mark and Denise Marino of Clearwater, Minn.; a sister, Delores Parsons of Longwood, Fla.; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Interment was in Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent section of Manalapan. Arrangements were by Brunswick Memorial Home, East Brunswick.

Elizabeth Kanca Samuel

Mrs. Samuel, 87, of Sayreville, died April 11, 2007, at Parker Home, New Brunswick. She was predeceased by a brother, Joseph Kanca; and a sister, Margaret Gomolka. She is survived by her husband, Lawrence L. Samuel; and four sisters, Irene Fronczak and Anna Mae Bacho, both South Amboy, and Helen Golla and Evelyn Kreudl, both South River. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Bernadette's Roman Catholic Church, Parlin. burial was at St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Sayreville. Arrangements were by Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, Parlin.

Margaret A. McCabe Hanko

Mrs. Hanko, 58, of Laurence Harbor died April 27, 2007, at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge. Born in South Amboy, she resided in North Brunswick prior to relocating to Laurence Harbor two years ago. She was a medical transcriptionist at Medquest, Florham Park. She was a former member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, South Amboy. She was predeceased by her husband, David B. Hanko in 1993; and her parents, John R. and Helen "Ellie" O'Connor McCabe. She is survived by two daughters, Karen Zach of Lodi, and Mary Kate Hanko of Ramsey; a brother, Michael McCabe; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Eileen McCabe Robertson, and Nancy and Joseph Conroy, all of South Amboy; and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Mary's Church. Interment was at Christ Church Cemetery, South Amboy. Arrangements were by The Gundrum Service Home for Funerals, South Amboy.

Elaine E. Schuster Baron

Mrs. Baron, 71, of Toms River, died April 30, 2007, at Community Medical Center, Toms River. Born in Monticello, N.Y., she resided in Old Bridge for more than 20 years prior to relocating to Toms River 12 years ago. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert in 2003. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Heidi and Alan Zucker of the Monmouth Junction section of South Brunswick; three sons and one daughter-in-law, Leonard Perlson of New York City, Alan Perlson of Elmira, N.Y., and Bruce and Michele Baron of Monroe Township; a brother, Morris Schuster of Milwaukee; and four grandchildren. Alison H. Parinello Maggio

Mrs. Maggio, 33, of Jackson, formerly of Sayreville and Howell, died April 24, 2007, in Kimball Medical Center, Lakewood. She was a former dance instructor. Most recently, she worked for Accumed Laboratories, South Amboy. Surviving are a son, Joseph David, at home; her mother, Sharon Parinello of Freehold; two brothers and sisters-in-law, David and Andrea Parinello of Jackson and Daniel and Renee Parinello of the Toms River section of Dover; her maternal grandmother, Helen Albrizio of Freehold; her paternal grandfather, Anthony Parinello of San Diego; a nephew; and four nieces. A funeral service was held at Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, Freehold Township. Interment was in Monmouth Memorial Park, Tinton Falls.
