      Bears are back on top in GMC tennis
      Team's depth enough to edge South Brunswick for GMCT title
            When J.P. Stevens won the Greater Middlesex Conference Boys Tennis Tournament last year, some wondered whether it marked the end of an era. After all, by dethroning East Brunswick, the Hawks ended a five-year reign of Bear dominance, finally finding a way to topple what has long been the conference's premier team.

      Falcons are not entirely satisfied with their play
      Several locals scrambling to qualify for postseason
            No one can sneeze at a 9-4 record, but for Monroe High School baseball coach Greg Beyer, there's some room for improvement in his Falcons' performance. "We've been up and down this year," he said. "We won three in a row, but then on Monday we suffered an 11-1 loss to Carteret.       Saturday night lights come to Milltown
            On a less than perfect night, weather-wise, a crowd of over 400 baseball fans watched the first home night game in Spotswood High School history as varsity baseball made its debut in Milltown (Milltown high school students attend Spotswood) Saturday night.

            New York Sports Clubs-East Brunswick is currently taking registrations for their summer basketball league. League dates are May 15-Aug. 19.       Notes from another fine day on the bay
            Before the storm last week I got reports from N.J. Saltwater Fisherman, Joey Gahrmann and his brother Chuck Gahrmann, both from East Brunswick, along with their buddy Scott McCall from Hillsborough, who fished the Raritan Bay area near buoy 11 for Chuck's birthday.
