Just for the Health of It, a New Brunswick community health fair for the entire family, will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on May 19 in Buccleuch Park, Easton Avenue, New Brunswick, across from Saint Peter's University Hospital, 254 Easton Ave. Rain date is May 20.
Activities will include air-filled rides, a 3K Fun Run/Walk beginning at 10 a.m., a 100-yard dash for children beginning at 11 a.m., softball and baseball, tennis clinics by the U.S. Tennis Association, a karate demonstration, a cricket match, a weight-lifting demonstration provided by L.A. Fitness and Workout World, a bocce exhibition and clinic at the New Brunswick Senior Center, massages by Mobile Massage Spa and health and fitness exhibits and screenings.
Several bands, including Orquesta Rumba con Son (formerly known as the Rutgers Salsa Band), the Social Funk Experiment and the Screaming Females will take to the stage on the great lawn. Sparkee, the Somerset Patriots mascot, also will make an appearance. A farmers market and healthy foods will be provided by the George Street Co-op. Water will be provided by Poland Spring. Guests may bring their own picnic lunch.
The fair is hosted by Saint Peter's University Hospital, New Brunswick Recreation and the George Street Co-op.

The members of the Churchill Junior High School Computer Club, East Brunswick, are offering free personal computer training for East Brunswick senior citizens.
The next training session is set for 9-11 a.m. on May 19 in room 303 at Churchill Junior High School, 18 Norton Road.
The program is free of charge.

Pasta Dinner on tap
at Jamesburg Firehouse
The Jamesburg Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary will sponsor an All-You-Can-Eat Pasta Dinner from 5-8 p.m. on June 8 at the Jamesburg Firehouse, 82 W. Railroad Ave.

moving to middle school
East Brunswick Special Education PTA (SEPTA) will hold a meeting at 7:30 p.m. on May 21 in the public meeting room area at the East Brunswick Public Library, Jean Walling Civic Center.
Hammarskjold Middle School principal Michael Gaskell will speak on "Transitioning to Hammarskjold." Elementary school administrators, Memorial School principal Pamela Mayo and Frost School principal Lynne Meara will join in the discussion.

Fourth of July gala
Vendor space is available at the annual Monroe Township Recreation Department Fourth of July Celebration set to begin at 5 p.m. on July 4 in Thompson Park.
The event will feature refreshments, food vendors, novelty vendors, craft vendors and musical entertainment. A fireworks display is set for dusk. Space-rental fee has been reduced to $50. to benefit OLOL School
Our Lady of Lourdes (OLOL) School, Milltown, will host a Proceeds Night fundraiser from 5-9 p.m. on May 24 at T.G.I. Friday's, Route 1 south, North Brunswick.

Integrated preschool class offered in E.B.
The East Brunswick school district offers a free preschool program that provides an opportunity for 4-year-old disabled students to be educated with their typical peers. The integrated class will be made up of children with special-needs and typically developing preschool children.
Community members who are interested in having their typically developing 4-year-old child participate in the program, and who are able to provide transportation, may submit a letter to Jo-Ellen Basaman, East Brunswick Board of Education, 760 Route 18, East Brunswick, NJ 08816.
A lottery drawing will be held on June 15. Parents will be notified of openings and acceptance status.

Teens sought for roles in Villagers' 'Seussical'
Auditions for the upcoming Villagers Theatre TeensVill production of the musical "Seussical" are set for 7 p.m. on May 17 and 20 at the theater, DeMott Lane, Somerset section of Franklin.
The production will be cast with teens ages 13-19 only. Performance dates will be July 27, 28, 29, Aug. 3, 4, 5, 10, 11 and 12.
Interested teens should prepare 16 bars of a song in the style of the show (no songs from "Seussical" may be used) and are encouraged to be familiar with the show. Readings will be from the script.

The Temple B'nai Shalom Adult Education program will present a talk titled "Chronic Hunger and Poverty in New Jersey" at 9 p.m. on May 25 at the temple, Fern and Old Stage roads, East Brunswick.
Guest speaker will be the Rev. Bruce Davidson, pastor with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Davidson is a member of the Anti-Poverty Network of New Jersey and chairman of the annual Statewide Conference on Poverty.

The Sisterhood of the East Brunswick Jewish Center (EBJC) will offer a May 27 bus trip to Caesar's Casino, Atlantic City.

EARTH Center to host May 19 Plant Sale
The Rutgers Cooperative Extension Middlesex County EARTH Center will hold its first EARTH Center Plant Sale beginning at 9 a.m. on May 19 in Davidson's Mill Pond Park, 42 Riva Ave., South Brunswick.
The sale is an opportunity for local gardeners to purchase starter plants raised by the county's Master Gardeners. Plant selection will include (but is not limited to) heirloom tomatoes, unusual varieties of perennials and annuals, flowering vines, ornamental grasses and dozens of types of vegetables. to offer Spring Concert
Our Lady of Lourdes School (OLOL), 44 Cleveland Ave., Milltown, will host its Spring Concert at 7 p.m. on May 22 in the school auditorium.

Students will bowl for children with cancer
High school students throughout Middlesex County are invited to take part in the Prodigal Foundation Inc. Masters Bowling Tournament Benefit set for 5-9 p.m. on June 1 at Woodbridge Bowling Center, 346 Main St. Proceeds from the event will aid children affected by cancer.
Entry fee is $50 in sponsorships per bowler. Price includes the cost of bowling, shoes and T-shirt.
First-, second- and third-place trophies will be awarded for boys' high game and high set and girls' high game and high set. Door prizes will be offered.

The East Brunswick High School Drama Club will sponsor a fundraising car wash from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on May 19 in the high school parking lot, Cranbury Road.
Watershed panel selling chemical-free products
The Lawrence Brook Watershed Partnership is conducting an Organic (Chemical-Free) Fertilizer and Cleaning Material Sale fundraiser from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturdays at the group's headquarters building, 85 Washington Ave., Milltown.
The nonprofit organization, dedicated to the protection of the Lawrence Brook Watershed, seeks to encourage area residents to avoid the use of toxic garden materials and cleaning products. Data shows that contaminated stormwater runoff and chemical lawn fertilizers are significant contributors to elevated levels of chemicals in the drinking water supply.

OLOL seeks donations, vendors for yard sale
Our Lady of Lourdes (OLOL) School, 44 Cleveland Ave., Milltown, will hold its third annual Yard Sale as part of the Milltown Townwide Yard Sale on June 2 and 3.
Donations of new and gently used items for the sale will be accepted from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Mondays-Fridays, at the school.
Vendors are welcome to rent table space to sell their goods. Space-rental fee is $20 per day.
