      Police-coverage issue one worth studying
            With a scaled-back force of just three full-time police officers, including the chief, it's high time that Helmetta takes a good look at its police department and how it can best serve the borough. Whether that means increasing manpower or turning police coverage over to another town, the issue needs to be examined.

      See proposal for what it is: a bailout for developer
            At the East Brunswick Township Council meeting on April 16, Mayor William Neary asked the council to approve a change in zoning that would allow a developer to build 400 homes on the land bordered by Harts Lane and Tices Lane. He stated that the homes would be approved for senior citizens (people 55 years of age and older, with no children under the age of 18).

            Nine. That's the number of people I saw talking on their cell phones while driving on my way to work this morning. Of the nine, one was a lady talking on the cell phone while blithely running a red light on Cranbury Road.
