      Cleanup, signs heighten awareness of Darfur
            On Saturday morning, May 19, students from J.P. Stevens High School, Edison, East Brunswick High School and members of the East Brunswick organization Community on Conscience-NJ cleaned up Summerhill Road in East Brunswick. We used the opportunity of our spring cleanup to raise awareness about the ongoing crimes against humanity in Darfur, Sudan.

            There has been much discussion in the media about preserving open space in New Jersey. Monroe Township has been a role model for preserving land, and as a resident of Monroe, I more than approve of our township government's aggressive plans for open space.

      Library expansion reflects officials' forethought
            When it comes to the Monroe Township Public Library, it is a matter of a great facility getting even better. When the library opened in 1989, we had 4,000 square feet of space, and today we have 21,000 square feet, and we are filled to capacity.
