      Golf outing to benefit scholarship program
            The Monroe Township Hoops Association will sponsor its fourth annual golf outing on July 30 at Concordia Golf Course, Monroe. Registration will begin at noon. Shotgun start is set for 1 p.m. An awards dinner at Villa Laura Restaurant, Monroe, will follow the outing.

      Ultimate Frisbee Camp scheduled in Monroe
            The Monroe Recreation Department will offer an Ultimate Frisbee Camp, open to youngsters in seventh-12th grades, Tuesdays and Thursdays, July 3-26, at Danny Ryan Field, North State Home Road, Monroe. Beginner-level students (youngsters in seventh-ninth grades) will attend from 6-7 p.m. Intermediate-level students (10th-12th grades) will attend from 7-8 p.m.

      Vacation Bible school registration under way
            Lighthouse Christian Fellowship, 100 Hardenburg Lane, East Brunswick, will offer a "Take the Plunge" vacation Bible school (VBS) from 6:30-9 p.m., June 24-28. The program will feature Bible stories singing, puppet shows, arts and crafts and a snack. All ages, prekindergarten-adult, are welcome. Admission is free of charge.

      Concerts, movies, teen events coming to E.B.
            The township of East Brunswick Division of Recreation will offer a variety of summer programming for families and teens. Teen Splash Bashes, open to East Brunswick residents only, are set for 6-10 p.m. on June 29 for eighth- and ninth-grade students and July 13 and 27 for sixth- and seventh-grade students, at Crystal Springs Family Aquatic Center, Dunhams Corner Road, East Brunswick.

      'Twelfth Night' to be performed at library
            Monroe Township Library, 4 Municipal Plaza, will host Shakespeare's "Twelfth Night" presented by The Shakespeare Theatre's Next Stage Ensemble July 14 at 2 p.m. The free play is for children age 10 and older. Tickets are available beginning June 14, and limit two tickets per person.

      Vendors sought for Fourth of July gala
            Vendor space is available at the annual Monroe Township Recreation Department Fourth of July Celebration set to begin at 5 p.m. on July 4 in Thompson Park. The event will feature refreshments, food vendors, novelty vendors, craft vendors and musical entertainment. A fireworks display is set for dusk.

      Hebrew-speakers club will meet on June 24
            The next meeting of the Chug Ivrit club for intermediate and advanced Hebrew speakers will take place at 11 a.m. on June 24 at a private home in the Highland Park/Edison area. Chug Ivrit is sponsored by the Raritan Valley Chapter of Hadassah. Meetings are free of charge. Men and women are invited. Membership in Hadassah is not required.

      Young readers to follow clues on scavenger hunt
            A scavenger hunt, open to registered Spotswood Public Library Youth Summer Reading Club members, will take place on June 27 at the library, 548 Main St. Club members ages 3-7 will participate from 11 a.m. to noon. The hunt is set for 1-2 p.m. for youngsters ages 8-13.

            The Lawrence Brook Watershed Partnership will host a Woodland and Lake Nature Walk beginning at 10 a.m. on June 23 in the Farrington Lake Park and Conservation Area, North Brunswick. Rain date is June 24. Participants should meet in the parking lot at Farrington Lake Dam.
