      Prudhomme double-winner as owner at SuperNationals
      Raceway Park hosted event for 38th year
            Don "the Snake" Prudhomme enjoyed many a weekend at Raceway Park. During his famed National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) Hall of Fame career, Prudhomme won Funny Car titles at the Old Bridge drag strip five times.

      Bay fishing seems a bit more reliable of late
            Ro n N uzzolo Fish On Well, the first Hi-Mar kids' trip is in the books for this year.Hi-Mar's first group was from Hooked on Fishing, Not on Drugs, led by Wayne Tomelson. It didn't seem to matter what kind of fish they caught - every one reeled in brought a big grin to the face of each kid.

      Young Bombers putting their feet to the fire
            The Sayreville American Legion baseball team takes the field this summer with a lineup that will give locals a glimpse of what next year's varsity squad will look like. Only two players from this year's Bombers varsity contingent are on the American Legion entry: sophomore pitcher Jake Campbell and junior catcher Rhett Fischer.

      Monroe's Buddy Ball ends successful season
            MONROE - While the New York Yankees and the New York Mets battled it out in their subway series last weekend, "Yankee" and "Mets" history was made right here as the first season of Monroe Township's Buddy Ball program came to a close. "It has been a great experience for our players, who range in age from 4 to 21," said Mike Peto, president of the Monroe Township Baseball Association.
