      Zoning change would sacrifice quality of life
            This is an open letter to the mayor of East Brunswick. When was the last issue to bring out more than 200 of the people you represent to protest a proposed zoning variance? Plans are under way to attempt to modify the permitted use near the corner of Guernsey and Ryders lanes in an effort to build Quail Cove, a 90-unit age-restricted development.

            It has been a long-standing tradition in Milltown that for the Fourth of July parades the members of the Borough Council march together as one unit to represent the people of Milltown and the elected positions that they hold in the town.

      Medicare funding cut could have big impact on senior citizens
            As a senior citizen who participates in a Medi-care Advantage plan, I urge our members of Congress to continue funding the Medi-care Advantage program at the current level. I was disappointed to learn that there is discussion in Washington about making cuts to the program. Senior health programs are some of the most important programs that the federal government funds.
